OMG OMG OMFG!!!
I squeeze my eyes shut as I run, feeling my feet churn the sand beneath me. I hack and cough and flail as I feel the stinging grains burn my skin everywhere, and I can well imagine what the angry sand god must look like. Warty, greenish-yellowish-gray skin, all lumpy from the flesh formed over pebbles and sand...rolling, pupil-less eyes...flapping lips revealing the gigantic, whirlpool-like mouth...sausage-shaped fingers will splintered fingernails...

I find myself in a seat of wet brown sand. Wiping the grit off of myself feverishly, I turn to my companions, some piled over each other from their descent.
What descent?
I squint up. Around us, walls of sand stretch up, as if we're in a pit.
Cuz, well, we are in a pit.
"Ick. This stuff is nasty."
"It's wet sand, you dolt."
"Oh mighty sand god, oh almighty sand god, please forgive of us our sins..."
We turn as one to the monotone voices from the corner. YYugi, Des, and Nerfe are chanting, it seems, to the sandgod.
"You think the guys are scared?"
"Mebbe the sandgod has them under his spell," someone snickers.
"Her. Her spell. The sandgod's probably a girl."
"Yeah, like an enchantress."
"Seducing them?" I ask skeptically.
"Eww...no--"
"CRABS!!!"
All noise stops. Little tiny crabs, each the size of a healthy spider, come crawling and clacking towards us.
"Hey, they've got our stuff!"
"Maybe the serve the sand god?"
"I...don't...think...so..."
One crab stirs the crab at its feet, making a surprisingly large whirlwind for such a small creature. The sand flies in every direction, and the clacking increases.
"What sand god?" asks someone nervously. "Those crabs did it!"
Immediately, the boys throw themselves into the sand, bowing and flopping on the ground. Look like young willow twigs being bent back and forth, they do. Flop-flop-flop.
"Don't eat us!"
"Don't kill us!"
"Spare us!"
-_-;; Guys.
"Oh! How cute! Crabs!"
I blink, then see Adri scrabling up from the shadows. She doesn't seem to notice our situation, or the danger, and runs to the crabs instead.
"Awww~ Pets! Hey, can I name this one Orly? Oh, I'll name this one Sydney, Sydney Carton, and this one Johnny Depp!!!" ^^
I stare. Only she can find a crab to name name after her favorite males.
"Hey, why not name one Des?" Des complains.
"Or Nerfe?"
"Please don't name one YYugi. To compare me to a crab!"
It seems that the apprehension has melted away. Everyone else is crawling towards the bewildered crabs, stroking them and petting them.
"I wanna take this one home! I'll name it Mike. This whole group! They'll be called...the green monkeys!"
"Oh, I'll bring this one home. Mebbe it'll give me a lift across the ocean. I'll name it Cupcake." ^w^
"And this one's Samurai, and this one's StarFox...they'll make up a cool group!"
"This one's Paper-star...no, wait, I know! This one's Blue, this one's Lavender, this one's Pink!"
"Ah-ha! I'll name this one PB, after that famous artist, and this one Ryooki, after the other famous artist, and this one Queen Willy~"
I must hold on to my brain. I must hold on to my sanity. I watch in horror as my friends appear to have lost coherent thought, rolling in the sands with the armoured monsters.
