To My Delightful Friend:
I am glad to know that you are doing well. Indeed, it would be a misfortune for you to be sick. I wouldn't see you from the bridge for a few days, would I? At least if you were sick, you could still write back to me, right?
I didn't know that you were into gardening. I have much the same problem as you. I can never seem to keep my plants alive long enough. My mother has a great hand at it, but sadly enough, the hobby never rubbed off on me. Sorry to say, I cannot help you. However, when I do go back to visit her, I shall bring back some of your questions. Reading for the meantime does seem like a worthwhile thing to do, though.
A muffin? Is it chocolate, with chips in it? In a silver cup? If so, it must be yours. As a matter of fact, I even happen to know where it came from.
I was buying muffins at a bakery yesterday for a snack, and I came across two beautiful chocolate ones. I ate mine; it's extremely moist, and not too sweet. You can taste the dark chocolate, and there's a hint of orange in it. If you're lucky, you may chance upon a candied peel. I wasn't so fortunate, unless, that is, I ate it before I even noticed that it was there. Inside is a kind of custard filling, very smooth and creamy. However, its taste isn't strong enough to disrupt whatever else is going on.
I enjoyed the muffin, so I bought another one and put it in a box, then dropped it off at your front door after I mailed the letter. I suppose I could have left the letter on your doorstep as well, but I wanted the muffin to be a surprise. You do have such a wonderful sense of knowing just who sent that muffin to you, though. I was hoping that you would spend a while guessing.
Tell me what you think of it.
I regret to say that I didn't see you today. I was late coming to the bridge, and so I wrote it while the sun disappeared. Indeed, already half of it was gone. I'll tell you that I was selfish enough to hope that you were late too so that I could have a chance to see you, but nonetheless, you had already passed by.
Well, it is getting dark. I shall end this letter...Good Night!

I seem to have a tendency to use the words horror, horrified, horrible, and any other form of such words a lot. Is that a bad thing? Dx
