Cries could be heard from the room above,
“It’s a boy”, the doctor tells the mother.
Tears could be seen below,
“She didn’t make it”, says the surgeon.
As the smiles and tears mix together,
We praise the Life of Death.
Shouts of “Amen” in a small church,
Smiles overpowering sadness.
Heads lowered in the cemetery,
mourning the loss of his lover.

Skies, blue beyond the eyes,
secretly tainted by darkness.
Sunlight, beaming with energy,
dulled by the faint glow of the Moon.
As the light and darkness mix together,
We praise the Life of Death.
I look up into the eyes of my life,
and choose my own fate.
I close my eyes in the darkness,
and try to resist its deathly grip.
As my eyes open and close together,
I praise the Life of Death.
