Well, as it turned out, this was just the remedy he needed. It worked out better than I hoped! Let me tell you what happened...
I decided to take Conan's advice, and go to accept the quest. I really wasn't looking forward to this. I walked up to the building. It's outside appearance was surprisingly welcoming. There were flowers in the window, a welcome mat in front of the door, and the front yard was well kept. It looked like a homely little cottage. I walked in and found a desk nearby. I rang a bell on it, and a second later, a young woman popped up from behind! she was so sweet looking. Her smile is what caught my attention. It was so big and so full of emotion, that I couldn't help but smile back. We swapped introductions, and then I told her that I wanted to take on a quest.
With that, she led me across the town to a girl in another store. Her dress shocked me a little, but then her warm attitude eased me. She told me that my outfit needed a little changing. I would have been offended hadn't she have told me that Gaian's favorite pastime was accessorising. She tossed me a hat. To be honest, the thing was kind of dorky, but I generously accepted the gift.
She then took me to the forum. She must of saw me fidgeting, because she asked me what was wrong. I retold the event at the lake. Her eyes widened. She leaned close to me and said, "If anyone ever treats you like that again, I'll beat them to a pulp!" I believed it too! She then went on to tell me that most Gaian's were warm, inviting, kind, and would welcome me easily. That was definitely reassuring.
With more confidence, she brought me to a big bulletin board. She handed me a piece of paper, and told me to introduce myself. This way, everyone knows I'm here, but I don't have to embarrass myself by publicly announcing it. Another gift well received. I finished my intro and posted it there. Done! As we were walking back, she handed me some gold. She said it was for completing part of the mission. That made me feel good!
We then went to an achieve, and handed me a forum. It was a profile, and I was to write everything about me here, so others can get to know me better. Great! I thought, this is just what I was looking for. I'm horrible at talking about myself. After I filled out the forum, she handed me some more Gold. I was getting quite the collection! We finished our tour, and she handed me a wrapped gift. With a smile, she said "You earned it!" I opened it to fin a pair of shorts with blue flames on them. Whoa! these were nifty. Too bad I ad nothing to wear them with. I'd have to buy something there later.
I went back to the "Quest" cottage, and told her that I had finished. She smiled that big warm smile, and told me congratulations! then, she handed me some Gold. The biggest amount I had ever received! This was definitely a great day. I guess I'll stay here after all. Gaia seems like the place for me! Thanks Conan
