Strange, horribly-written stories from the mind of Godii
FULL METAL ALCHEMIST: Aweriare Journals, Entry Two
October 28 - Entry #2

I am on my way to meeting the Elric brothers. It's taken me an entire month to locate them, and I found out they were just coming back to Central from another mission-quest. In September, they had visited Central once to report what they had already discovered. I, unfortunately, just missed them when I was getting off the train and gathering my items. I had bumped a small fry in a red coat on my way out, but I didn't notice that he was Edward Elric until after he was onboard the train.

I'm waiting on the steps of the State Alchemist building, which my grandfather would not be so pleased about, for Edward and Alphonse Elric. Central is really quiet, and it almost feels like home. But at home, you could see the sunset on the horizon, and feel the wind in your face almost everywhere. But in Central, it's just silence. No crickets chirping or birds singing... just silence. I've barely seen any people around Central the past month and I've been wondering why. Perhaps Edward Elric would tell me, for he is on his way to the State Alchemist HQ right now.

"Edward Elric?" I said, just as he approached me. I stood up and looked at him. He was quite short.

"Yeah?" He replied, stopping in his tracks. A big suit of armor was following him, and I knew at once that was Alphonse Elric. Because they tried to perform a human transmutation to bring their mother back, Alphonse was taken into the circle, and he had disappeared. Edward had sacrificed his leg for his mother and his arm for his brother. Something horrible had happened to his mother's body as he looked upon it, and for his brother, well, all he could get was his brother's soul. "What do you want? I'm kind of in a hurry."

"Oh, yes. I'm Aweriare. I'm learning to study alchemy and I was hoping I could learn from you." He paused.

"Uhh..." He looked at the suit of armor.

"Um, maybe it's not such a good idea," Alphonse said. I was a bit surprised, he sounded very young for a person around 14 or 15. "We've made a lot of mistakes in the past... and if we teach you, you could do the same."

"If you did teach me about alchemy, then you would tell me all your experiences, good and bad, and I learn from them," I replied. "But... you are busy; and my grandfather did only wish for me to meet you." I started to leave, and as I was walking down the steps, one of them called back.

"Hey, wait a minute! Maybe you could help us on one of our State Alchemist missions. It'll be a test to see if you can learn from us!"

"Al!" Edward exclaimed suddenly, and I instantly knew that Alphonse made that decision on his own. I turned back and saw Edward and Alphonse with their back turned, whispering.

"But, brother, I don't like to be mean."

"Too bad, Al! We can't let her follow us. She'd get in the way." I could hear them, and what Edward had said slightly hurt. They were still in conversation and unnoticed, I left.
