Yeah...it's interesting looking at the little buggers now. It's not that they aren't...of some valid meaning or purpose, but they fail to do what journals are intended to do; serve as a record of the daily happenings of my life, whether in some was sardonic, sarcastic, witty, light-hearted, or simply strict facts. Interpretation can be left to the reader in most instances, though it's also common to psychoanalyze your own entries as you right. Meh...only a few are legitimate. I think I'll leave them (most of them, I deleted one atrocity) as a reminder to forget the heavy angst.
Well, at any rate, I've yet again neglected this journal with utmost disgrace. One should learn after a while. Anywho, I'm somewhat wondering about all the hoopla of Valentine's Day. If I were to simply tell someone that they were celebrating the death of a Saint, I don't think they'd take the holiday with as much...glee. However, they'd probably soon forget the snip-bit of information anyway, oblivious to the ironies of the world. But YES, V-Day is the day of Saint Valentine's Death, as ordered by Augustus II. A cruel emperor of Rome, he wouldn't allow men and women to marry for a time because he was waging war. A common reason that soldiers didn't want to fight was because they had wives, and with their wives they made families; it's a hard thing to leave behind for some...most. However, St. Valentine came to the rescue by performing secret marriages knowing well what the consequences could be...and they did come to pass.
OH WELL! You win some, you lose some, and I don't particularly believe in the notion of "Love Conquers All" so I can't say that I give two s**ts worth of a care. Maybe half a thimble-full. Maybe. That's it boys and girls! Enjoy your monotony.
