Memories
On the fringes of my mind,
These dreams and visions flow,
Fighting to be the first heard,
The minute my eyes close.
Yet I don't want to see and feel,
All the things they have to show.
Too much pain and misery is evident there,
I just don't want to know.
So why does it come to me,
Instead of another person in this room?
I already know the answer,
Though I do not like it.
It is because these are my thoughts and memories,
That come from my own past,
And no matter how much these memories want to escape,
They are gone and done.
