Somebody call the WAHHHHHMBULANCE! wahmbulance wahmbulance wahmbulance wahmbulance wahmbulance
A friend of mine sent me this random rant message about emos; "Does it ever bother you when people are just determedly depressed and boohoo-ey and resolutely will not cheer up no matter what you tell them; partially b/c they actually believe it and partially b/c they're trying to make you pity them? And also people that can't stand those kinds of people (like emos) who they really are in the inside but are ashamed of it and don't want to be excluded? I think of myself as a usually optimistically realistic person and it just bothers me when people aren't open to the world and couldn't care less whether it blows up tomorrow or not b/c they think that they're 'too cool' to care or think that life is pointless? I know this is a ramble/rant but it's really bothering me right now. *fumes*" I replied with this; "Yeah, I am very bothered by those people. In fact I got a friend on DeviantArt that constantly posts 'emo' journal entries about scuicide and such, and it is driving me absolutely batty. "Maybe u thought she was being rude with me but nope....i had a talk with her, her words made me back to reality and made me stop what i almost was about to do.....Shes a very nice person, dont get mad at her for a comments, pls, is my best pal, and helps me all the time, now mostly...i mean, she stopped me when i was about to swallow that ******** poison..." Yeah... That was after her little crycry, pity me post. So many people run to her rescue its just idiotic... I really hate drama, and emos pissing and crying about how their lives suck soooo much, and they slit their wrists and cut themselves, "Omg I'm sooo cooool and hardcore1111," and also try to OD on pills... Yeah, if they went through some of the crap I, and some other people have gone through... EHEM! Anyway, what I've noticed with them is that most live in upper middle class-high class familys, they really shouldn't have a reason to whine. Their family is stable financially and they don't have to lift a damn finger around the place. All they do is write cries for pity on thier damn blogs... Bah! Now you've got me going! I better stop now before I write a novel XDXDXD"
What is the point of this you ask, well, to put it simply, I'm taking this discussion further. My dear friend has fired up mah layzuhz and now I'm going to spew out as much ranting as I can before my brain explodes from witnessing so much stupidity on t3h internetz! domokun Let me tell you beforehand if anyone dare come by this place: This information that I'm writing down now at this very moment is what I have observed during my time on the interwebs and in real life. If you find some information is offensive, please don't find it absolutely necessary to go point out every little thing in defence of 'said' friend this post may apply to, blah blah... I wont care. Your friend surely wont care as they will probably be too busy cutting themselves, or starting drama somewhere.
This is my journal, and I am free to express my opinions on it. Go somewhere else if you don't want to read it. Plain and simple.
There, now that thats over with...
Definition of 'Emo' as said by me. Emo-emotional-emotion- showing too much emotion. Some have argued, "Oh, so if I show any kind of sad emotion than I'm emo?" No, everyone knows that people show emotions, wether sad, mad, or happy, ect. These emotions are shown in any situation, at any given time of the day, in any area of the world, also it IS okay to be depressed wether its from some kind of chemecal imbalance of hormones, or a breakup, dead relative, w/e (Normal people eventually depending on such event, will get over it). (Also see below for facts on depression.) Whereas, Emos, thus nicknamed, by their tendencys to cry over trivial things, and be depressed 24-7 over nothing (Or, as said by my friend: "determedly depressed and boohoo-ey and resolutely will not cheer up no matter what you tell them , being overly emotional." I've gotten really annoyed sometimes when I'm reading blogs on Myspace, DeviantArt, Livejournal, and hell, even here on Gaia. They mostly complain about how their lives suck so bad, I mean we all say that sometimes when there are hard times apon us, but at least SANE people eventually get over them and look at the bright side of life! No, these people complain about it CONSTANTLY, not only that they almost brag about how they cut themselves and show the tiny cat scratch marks on their wrists (or other places on the arm) at school or any other public place where they are around friends. (My cat could make better injuries than that for ******** sake!) They also go on about taking some kind of sleeping pill and overdosing on it.
Yuh-huh, thats nice... And your proud of that? rolleyes It pisses me off to no end to see that they have a decent house, in a decent neighborhood, with two decent, loving parents. As I have said in my reply, most live in a family with stable income, with no worrys of eviction, or losing a vehicle, ect. They are usually the ones trying to get pity from other people. They claim they will commit scuicide and their friends will be rushing to thier aid, they absolutely LOVE the attention because they are selfish, egocentric, little attention whores. Some of the attention they receive on an annual scuicide blog is just sickening if there are no trolls around to make things lulzier. Its sort of like when you were a kid, you loved the attention that your parents gave you when you were laying in bed with the covers drawn over you for comfort. They'll bring you ice cream and be extra nice, or less mean to you. What makes things extra hilarious is when they go on to 'claim' they have mental problems of some sort. They say they are insane and say they want to kill themselves or other people, just because they want attention, and for the shocked expressions on stupid people's faces. Some also even claim they have a high IQ of somewhere around hmmmm 160-167. If you WERE that smart, you'd know that you were being a complete douchebag and that you are making the friends around you worried about you. Yes, you are such a good friend going on about killing yourself and all that jazz, yes your so wonderful for making your family and friends worried half to death about you. Oh its so much fun! The attention is WONDERFUL! Yeah... right... douche...
Heres a list of people that have a RIGHT to have issues and be depressed; Victums of extreme domestic violence. Rape victums. Witnesses of MURDERS. Victums of molestation of some kind. People that have had their loved ones slaughtered. Soldiers.
People that claim they have issues when nothing really bad has happened in their life, should just stop being idiots, put that razor blade away, your being a jackass and nobody wants to know that you cut yourself being 'hardcore'. Put those damn pills away because I'm sure your parents who have FAILING health due to old age, need those much more than you do, emo brat. Stop writing poetry about scuicide, stop writing blogs crying for pity, attention whore. Stop, for the love of god, causing drama!
I say, be happy with the things you have in your life, your friends, your family, who all really care about you. If something bad happens, you can always go to your friends for support, but don't gripe about it FOREVER on your damn blog milking it for every last bit of pity/attention you can get! Your life is worth living no matter what you think and you shouldn't attempt to just throw it away for some stupid 'fad'.
Be happy your not in someone else's shoes, like those people I listed above. Just take your time to think of the HELL some people have gone through.
You could be living with a chronically depressed mother and a ***** father in a run down crap shack, in a neighborhood where you'll get shot wearing black shoes, with no internets to write sad little blogs about your ever-so-crappy life.
BUHHHH!!! scream I think this is the end of my rant. If I think of more things to rant about, they'll be on future journal entries. In the mean time, here a a website with a more indepth definition on 'emos' http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/index.php/Emo
Information on depression, in case you were curious: "Psychiatrists still don't completely understand depression, but most believe it's caused by a combination of biological and environmental factors. Many people who are depressed have a family history of depression or other mental illness. A child who has one depressed parent, for example, has a 25 percent to 50 percent chance of suffering depression himself. If both parents have had problems with the disease, his chance goes up to 75 percent.
But depression is based on more than just genes. Traumatic life events -- abandonment; violence in the family; chronic problems in school; a difficult move; or physical, sexual, or emotional abuse or neglect at home, school, or other trusted caregivers -- often trigger depression. Sometimes a loss such as the death of beloved pet, a loved one, or parents' divorce, can result in depression as well as grieving.
They may not know the exact cause, but scientists do know that depression is related to changes in brain chemistry. The specific changes involve chemicals called neurotransmitters, which help relay messages from one nerve cell to another. When there is a drop in certain neurotransmitters, the brain doesn't function normally, leading to depression and other forms of mental illness.
