I must have become an advocate for Libraries recently. But i grew up going to them with family. I used to go with my grandma in her town, we would walk across the street through the park, through a walk-way beside the tennis courts. It was fun. I was part of a summer program as a kid. They had reading contests, they would literally talk to you about the books you read.
my grandma was part of the board at the library and helped get an archive room at the library in her town. There is still an embroidered patch she did for a quilt like decor that hangs in the library.

More recently, like a few years ago, library in my town started to offer museum passes. I utilized a few...passes to The Intrepid, and Museum of Natural History in NYC, then 2 museums in New Jersey. Every state usually has passes for some type museum.
My library also has a Library of Things to borrow, which includes a Nintendo Switch. I've been thinking about borrowing it, just to try it. I'm not a huge gamer any more. I have a playstation 1, Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360.
Just yesterday they registered for Hoopla which is a streaming type app to get music, television shows, audio books, and other things. I found the soundtrack to one of my favorite movies. And it's all for FREE, if you have a library card.
Libraries also have special events if you want to get out and meet people, they may have tutor's and contests etc. Never know what you will find at your local library these days.
