You told me that you loved me,
I told you that I cared,
You said that we would never forget
the moments we shared.
I held you close in my arms
and you told me to never let go.
We looked up into the sky and laced our hands together
Everyone said that we would get
the fairy tale ending and live
happily for ever and ever.
As the rain fell and the snow blew
We remebered what hardships we went through
and smiled as we held each other close,
lying down to go to bed,
Knowing that when we awoke, we would stand tall,
flying on wings of gold and love,
as we watched our loved ones from up above.
