When Fates Collide
Part Two;
Prototype
The little girl was sleeping on Annas bed for now, atleast she thought and hoped so. She was laying down on her back in her not so comfortable couch, starring on the ceiling. All her thoughts were concentrated on what just had happened to her and why, not beeing able to find an answear for either question.
The television was on and it lit up the room in whatever color that was currently in advantage of the screen, making the ceiling somewhat more interesting to stare at. Outside the street were once again silent, it was midnight and there wasent really place to go around midnight in this part of town. Anna was greatfull for that, so that she atleast could have some goodnight sleep now and then, but tonight she wasent sleeping. 'Maybe I should just close my eyes for a minute, I wont be of much help when tired. I will take the girl to the hospital in the morning and then clean this place up and all will be back to normal.' A plan that sounded good to her at the moment, even thou she sighed to thought of 'normal'.
Anna did as she told herself, starting her plan with closing her eyes slowly, closing the world around her for a few minutes. She did her best to keep her mind busy to not fall alseep, but her mind was like a soothing hurricane, that blured her out completley from reality. Everything went quite and the world around her became completle dark, not even the light from the television thru her eyelids was there to find.
"Dont be scared." Ah distant deep, old and ragged voice spoke to her, and Annas body became stiff. She feelt tied to the couch and was no longer able to move or even open her eyes. "Dont be scared." The voice spoke once again and her body trembled from the sound of it. Fear... fear and only fear could be seen all over her, in every little motion her otherwise stiff body could manage to create."Dont be..." "STOP!" The first word she could push out, with all her strength she screamed. After she finished she drew heavy breaths trying to calm her self down. "...scared." The voice continued as if not touched by Annas terrified scream.
A thud, a silent but clear thud could be heard... against the door? Anna fellt how she could not control her fear anymore, and tears started running down the side of her face. She had given up, she could not see, she could not move, she was just a victim under the darkness and of a male voice that seemed to play with her mind. But the voice never came back, atleast not the voice that haunted her. "Mom..a?"
Annas eyes opend wide and she sat up pushing herself back to the arm rest, stopping as she did so and her eyes quickly started to search the room. She looked for a manly figure, the evidence of someone beeing in her apartment, something that seemed wrong or out of place. The only thing she found that was out of place was herself, a deep sigh, and the little girl standing next to the couch opposite to her. "Hi..." Anna whispered when she realised it had all been a dream, a really... really bad dream, and the bloody robe that the child was wearing didnt really help her situation, and just made her shiver as she spoke to her. "Whats... whats wrong..." Anna rested her left elbow against the back of the leather couch and then rested her forhead in her hand. "So tired..." She whispered and waited for the little girls reply.
And she keept waiting, never getting the reply of what was wrong. Anna once again feeling that bad shivering feel down her spine, tilthed her head, watching the girl with only one eye. "What...?" She asked her once again, her soul pleading for the answear so that she once again could stop to worry. If she was worried, maybe she was just still frightened of the girl. 'The girl' Anna thought, she had yet to ask for her name, maybe after they broke that barrier it would be easier to communicate. But just as she took the deep breath that would carry the question the little girl spoke.
"I know... ho... who he is." She said with her silent yet piercing voice. Atleast it was piercing thru Annas mind right now like nothing ever had done. Not even her husbands speach at their wedding had reached thar far in to her soul. "What man?" Anna replied not sure what the girl was refering to. The girl seated herself in the couch, staining it with blood. Anna had little care for this thou and simply followed her movments with her eyes. The little girled looked in to the dark screen of the television, she didnt seem to watch for a reason, it just seemed to be in the direction that her eyes were normaly positioned in. "Him..." She pointed at the black television screen. Anna sighed. "There is nobody there, its just a..." The television turned on, a quick static sound before the acctual screen got a clear picture. "But I never... did you turn the television of?" Anna asked staring straight in to it, having a worrier lookd around her eyes. The girl shook her head still pointing at the screen. "Dad...y."
The screen showed a pressconference for some medical company....
The people around him was screaming loudly, their screams apparently questions, but he had problems sorthing them out from one another. His pale skin formed several wrinkles on his old face as he frowned to all the noice. He start to search the crowd with his eyes and suddenley he gets eye contact with one reporter seeing his lips move and therefore hears the question. "Is there any special reason for your early retire?" The young man asks him. Ben shrugged, hardly wanting to answear it. He moved his hand over his forehead removing the sweat and then over his thin grey hair. "The reason..." He starts.
Anna watched the screen hearing the old man speak of how his career has reached his peek, and that he had nothing more to give to the company. "Dady..." Anna turned to the little girl, thinking that the old man could hardly be her father, he was just to old for having a girl around the age of eight. Maybe it was just envy that spoke to her, and made her think like that. "Are you sure thats your father...ehm..." If Anna was gonna ask for her name she might as well do so now. "I dont think you told me your name." The question made the little girl tilt her head to the side still having her eyes fixated on the television screen. "You're.. no...not listening." The conference just ended as Anna turned her view to the television again. "Time to turn the tv off." She said with a tired sigh as she pushed herself out of the couch. She walked over to the tv and was just gonna push the off button as the screen whent blank, Annas hand twitched away from the button as if afraid of getting an electric shock. "They called me..." Anna shivered again and closed her eyes hearing the little girl speak to her. "...they ca...ca...called me..."
A minute of silence followed, Anna stood still waiting for an answear, finaly beeing able to put a name on the little girl that had entered her life like a ghost.
