WHEN FATES COLLIDE
Part One:
Collision
She was alone at home that night, just as many night before. Her husband was abroad on an assignment for his company, having some important buinsess meetings. Thou she also knew it was just another excuse for him to have another woman, in a new hotel bed. He had been hiding it well from her, but not far from well enough. She knew him by heart, atleast she always thought she did.
Anna was gonna take a shower, leaning up in her bed with a sad sigh as she rested her weight against her elbows. She watched the ceiling fan spin around slowly with a calm electric buz. She thought of her husband, seeing his face infront of her, smiling at her, lieing to her. Her eyes closed with yet another sigh when she sat up on the side of the bed.
The apartment was quite, the outside wasent. The sound of cars rolling, people talking and thiefs running. She was tired of this city, 'why dont I just leave' she whispered to herself as she searched the floor with her right foot trying to find her shirt. When she did so, she opened her eyes and they shifted in their brown color thanks to the light from the living room. The room she was in was pretty much empty, it had the bed, the fan and a chair and on it a glass of water, half full.
She leaned forward hearing the bed squeak as she moved. "Damn bed." She whispered to herself as she pulled the shirt to her bare chest.
The next second the phone started ringing from the living room. She quickly moved to her feet and pulled the white shirt on. She didnt care for her jeans right now and quickly ran out to of the room, and in to the just as empty square shaped living room. A brown leather couch, a bench with a television, a table with no chairs and ceiling lamp. That was about it. She wanted to scream every time she saw this, not understanding how her husband could have a well paid job and this was all they had. 'I guess he doesnt need me anymore' she thought with a shrugg as she reached for the wireless phone currently laying on the couch.
She picked it up and could hear nothing but a breathing sound. "Yes? Who is this?" She asked politly even thou she was tired and feeling grumpy. Even thou she replied to the silence the other side of the phone was still quite, no answear, no words, only breathing. A chill whent down her spine as she once again asked for the identity of the person that called.
Whoever it was he or she hung up, making Anna close her eyes and frown as she did so. "Wha...." She threw the phone back in to the couch with a thud sound and put her hands against her face. "Third time this week..." She whispered as she concidered calling the police again. They were investigating but they hadent yet been able to help, not having enough to go on. She didnt have any enemies, and she wasent really that social. No one really had a 'need' to hurt and stalk her like this.
A voice, yes it must have been a voice that suddenly came from the bathroom. The bathroom was opposit to the bedroom and now Anna starred right towards it thru her fingers. Her eyes were wide open, fearing what would happen if she closed them. "Who.. who... who is it?" What a dumb thing to say she thought directly after she said it, she should just run. But she was to curios to do so. With short slow steps she walked over the wooden floor and towards the door. She lowered her hands now having them over her mouth instead. She reached the door and she could hear the voice much stronger then before. It was young girls voice, maybe just a child. Anna observed the door now while hearing the voice, which now seemed to be... "crying?" Anna lowered her hands holding them togehter as she reached for the doorknob. Her heart was running wild and she could feel it thru her skin as her veins seemed to jump with every heartbeat. She turned the doorknob, as it made a crying noise of its own. The sound of it must have scared whoever was in the bathroom for everything suddenly whent quite.
Anna stopped her every movment, she stopped breathing, she stopped shaking, she was to afraid to even do a nervous blink. "Me and my nerves..." She said with a voice much lower then a whisper. But then....
BAM!
The door flew in to her and she fell backwards to the ground. Her breathing speeded up and her lungs were working quickly and franticly, almost hysteric. Her body was on the floor lifeless, half naked, wathcing the ceiling as she was to afraid to look up against whatever or whoever was going to stand there. Hearing the sound of someones whimper, she gathered the courage to look up. Her eyes were already wide open but somehow they managed to get even wider as she saw her. A young child infront of her, must have been around the age of maybe nine years old. "Who..." Then Anna noticed the rest, the young girl had a white hospital robe on, way to big for her and the end of it was beeing piled up on the floor. The robe was covered in blood, alot of blood, Anna couldnt see if it was the girls blood or someone elses, but it didnt matter cause still, it was blood.
Anna took a deep breath and pushed her self backwards and up on her elbows as she saw the little girl looking down at her. The girl had long dark hair that reached to her elbows and skin as pale as the robe she was wearing. Her eyes shimmered in red as she opened her mouth, it looked like her jaw dropped as if suprised. "I...I... Cant breath." The child whispered making Anna shivered as she talked. "Mom....a.....?"
Anna shook her head. "No.. Im not your mother." The girl took a few quick steps against Anna and Anna pushed herself backwards with every step, untill she reached the couch and could not move further. "Mom....a...?" The young girl tilted her head and watched Anna as if she was looking for an answear to something. "NO!" Anna shouted and quickly moved up on the couch, pulling her knees up to her chest and wraped her arms around her legs. "What do you want!?" She screamed in fear of this little girl that was standing before her. "I... I...Im sorry." The little girl said with an upset voice just before she fell to the ground lifeless, thou her chest still moved so she was still breathing. Anna blinked a few times, she was still in shock.
"Hey....? Are... you... okay?" Anna released her legs and stepped down on the floor, and suported herself to stand up. "Kid...." Suddenly the fear she had for this child had dissappeared, and filled her up with questions instead. What was this girl doing here, and... why did she say she was sorry? Anna moved to her side and sat down on her knees next to her. She pulled the little girl in to her arms, and held her.
"Who are you?" She whipsered not thinking she would get an answear just yet.
