The train rolls by.
Cars are honking,
Rolling through the morning fog.
No one notices.
Another day in the city.
I pull on my t-shirt
Third day today.
Jeans are torn.
Sneakers falling apart.
No one notices.
Another day in the city.
I walk outside
Go walking along.
People shouting.
I cough, gripping my chest
The smoke,
The pollution,
Dragging me down.
No one notices.
Another day in the city.
Shadows move in the alley.
They follow me.
I run. They run.
Into a dead end.
Cornered.
They want my money.
I don't have any.
One pulls a piece.
One final sound.
No one notices.
Another day in the city.
