Wow. It's been forever since I last wrote something in my journal. Guess I'll take the freetime I have to scribble down something new.
Red, red was the last thing he had seen. Everything, red. He slowly opened his eyes, a hand immediately going up to his throbbing head. The top of his haid was sticky, warm. That feeling could only mean one thing, he thought as he pulled his hand down infront of his face, wincing as he gazed at the bloody hand. He had taken a wound to the head, but he was alive, without memory. Though he was alive then, without medical attention, he would would quickly die. He was unable to move, and could only lay back and let out crys of pain as his head throbbed. Something moved off to the left, in the bushes, but the pain prevented him from even turning his head to see what was moving towards him. He wished it would give him a more swift death. The movement stopped, and a blue light was suddenly cast over the clearing. The pain slowly started to fade away, as the boy slipped out of consciousness. He awoke later, the bright light cast by the morning sun met his eyes. He managed to hold up a hand to block out the light. The pain was gone, but he felt very weak. The next thing he heard was a slight giggle as a large shadow leaned over him. The light of the sun was too much to make out any real details, but it appeared to be the figure of a woman. His eyes slowly adjusted, more and more of the womans features revealed themselves. Her eyes were glowing, glowing light blue in contrast with her darker blue skin. Her face was sharp, her hair dangled to her shoulders. Her feet were hooved, her head was horned, and she had a small, hairless blue tail. She was far diffrent then anything the young boy had seen, but somehow her presence was calming, and the slight hum of magic followed her.
"I see you finally wake, you had me worried that you would not survive the healing process." She said with a smile, offering the boy her long-fingered hand to help him to his feet. Her voice sounded middle-eastern, but she spoke english fluently.
"I.. Wh-what happened?" The boy asked, studdering as he took the hand an rose to his feet. It was then that he noticed the womans height. She was easily taller then any human, she appeared to be nearly eight feet in height.
She sighed, walking over to a small campfire, wich appeared to have been extinguished for hours.
"I do not know. I only came to find you holding onto but a strand of your life."
She took a seat on a long, prodding the ashes of the fire with a stick.
"I-...Thankyou for saving me.." He wobbled over to a log opposite the fire, still feeling quite weak. The boy took a seat and stared down into the ashes.
" There is no need to thank me.. I can see in your eyes, you do not know what I am.."
The boy looked up, unable to find the center of her large glowing eyes.
"Yes..I.. I was wondering... What you were.." He sounded almost embarassed.
" My people are known as the Draenei.. We have recently found ourselves on your world, we were forced into a crash landing..." She dropped the stick into the pile of ashes, finding it impossible to rekindle the flame.
The boy found upon closer examination that the woman was dressed for battle, wearing a chainmail tunic and metal-plated leg guards.
"Why are you wearing armor?" The boy inquired.
"My people.. We have been harrassed by orcs for weeks, many are still pinned at the crash site, few of us have escaped to seek help.... I am sorry, but all this time I have forgotten to tell you my name.. I am know was Terlinne." She seemingly tryed to change the subject.
"My name.. My name's tom. " The boy said, offering her a hand shake. Terlinne didn't know quite what to make of the hand, so the boy took it back, turning a bit pink with emarassment.
"You have taken another shade of color, are you feeling alright?" She asked, almost worriedly.
"I-I'm fine. Now about, the orcs.. I'm a..I'm a squire. I could help, if you have a sword to spare." He could see she had two swords, a great-sword on her back aswell as a longsword at her side. He was in her debt, and would do most anything to help repay her.
"I could spare.. Perhaps this sword." She drew the longsword, holding the very tip of the blade, offering the boy the grip. He took it, and as soon as she let go the sword came crashing down, the heavy weapon nearly pulling him off the log. He was still quite weak, and the sword was very heavy. He was surprised she could lift it with such ease. She giggled, the runic symbols on her head lit up slightly.
" You're still too weak to weild a blade, hold still." She began muttering words in a language the likes of wich he had never heard before, her hands became connected by a beam of yellow energy, wich soon found its way to Tom. He suddenly felt much better, almost like he could push a mountain. He reached for the longword wich layed on the dirt, now able to pick it up, though it still seemed a big heavy and a bit large. He slid it into the leather rings on his back, where the sword he had been weilding before was kept. It had gone missing after he went unconscious.
"Come then, young Tom. I shall show you the path." She stood, clopping off into the thick of the forest, Tom not far behind.
((There. Just made that up off the top of my head.. Not that good, a bit choppy. ))
