I stayed here, in this massive castle with this girl (Whom I found was named Sarah Renault), and her family. Her parents never seemed to take to me because they had their "suspicions" about me, but I didn't care, I was going to leave them after I figured out what I was going to do. My heath quickly got better under the care of their personal doctor and soon I was wandering the halls and corridors to get the layout in my mind.
I carried my sword around with me everywhere and to my surprise, found the stories that Sarah told me were true. Assassins and other intruders who wanted after the family’s fortune attacked me almost on a daily basis. They were nothing though; just morons and idiots who thought the "new body guard" would be a push over. I took them out easily and without much effort, this killing of lesser humans left me wanting more so I continued my workouts in the inside courtyard. The training I endured was great, they other guards weren't as strong as I was but in groups of five gave me a good amount of practice.
Everything was good in this life until that is... HE came. At the beginning I didn't have a good feeling about him. He came in as a guest of the family, and he greeted them as Enrique, a proper noble from the eastern realm, but his clothes, guards, and weapons reeked of blood. Of course the parents never listened to anything I said, so my worries fell on def ears. He was perfect to them, he had over 1,000 acres of land past the mountains, a fortune that made there's look like pocket change and to top it off no significant other. In their minds he was the perfect match for their daughter. Sarah though had no intention of getting married nor had any want to be involved with him at all.
That's where it began, shortly after he arrived every one of the assassins and thieves stopped appearing. Then I continually felt a strange aura flowing around the castle in the depths of night. Sarah soon became quite paranoid, eyes followed her movements in the window and she called upon me to watch her every movement. I stood guard outside the bathroom as she bathed; I stood by her and watched every opening to her room as she slept just to give her peace of mind.
This though was probably the moment Enrique wanted; a few days after I started guarding her completely he put thoughts into her parent’s minds. Thoughts of her and me together. They wouldn't stand for it and they took me away from her, and I was ordered to guard the other side of the castle. It didn't take long, the first night of my new duty he struck, Enrique nearly killed Mrs. Renault, and critically injured Mr. Renault. He then proceeded to kill every guard between the main room and Sarah's chamber. Before I could get there Sarah was gone. I was blamed for everything, and after being yelled and scolded on how I was a free loader, and that I never did anything I resigned. I couldn't stand it anymore; I would save Sarah and kill Enrique, then after returning Sarah to her castle, get far away from there. I didn't care where I went anywhere was better...
