How I Normally Look
- Lor is an exceptionally tall boy, standing approximately 6’6”, with a rather skinny body for his tall frame. He is moderately built, having the occasional outline of a muscle here and there, but is generally seen as more scrawny than fit. To top it off, his tanned skin seems to cling tightly to whatever muscle he has, which hardly ever looks like much, making his visible parts, like arms, legs and face look somewhat bony. He’s the kind of guy who looks skinny in an average posture, and practically anorexic if you spot him stretching. This build seems to contradict Lor’s eating style however, which is something even he can’t explain. He likes to consider himself the “Shaggy” (as in Scooby-Doo) kind of guy; you know, the one who eats and eats but never seems to change. Some say he’s got a hidden eating disorder (that’s a laugh), but Lor just likes to guess at a high metabolism. Aside from this, Lor’s skinny and tall body, accompanied by the loose, almost dazed way he carries himself, makes him look a little “out-there”, although his facial features really bring him back to earth.
His face, naturally, should somewhat relate to the rest of his body, and it does in the sense that his face seems rather skinny, as well as being similarly tanned. However, his face in general does not seem to match the rest of what some would consider to be a delicate body, as an occasional eye patch, a few scars here and there, thrown in with dark brown eyes with a touch of gold near the pupil, and rugged, high cheek bones make him take on the look of a worn-down bad boy. His long-ish brown hair, mixed with a variety of bandanas, goggles, or other eccentric accessories also seem to emphasize this image.
Not to mention the clothing. When Lor combines his skinny body and rugged face with the fashion of a rockstar, he seems to just scream bad boy. The idea however, makes Lor scream with laughter. Tight jeans accompanied with a nicely fitting t-shirt, usually graphic tees with favorite bands, countries or symbols printed on them, and a loose over-shirt or even a pinstriped suit jacket, make for the typical new-age rockstar look, with a black belt and overly large belt-buckle, ranging anywhere from dice to hands, finishing it off. The jeans are typically blue jeans, though he has been known to wear black and brown colored ones as well. For the most part, the rest of his clothing remains in the dark to earth-tones, only highlighted by accessories of brighter colors.
These accessories include a variety of jelly bracelets, which Lor seems to switch around from hand to hand every day. They range in bright colors such as pinks, yellow and lime greens, while an additional children’s plastic watch with the bright image of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle on the sides, graces his wrist as well. Meanwhile, a set of necklaces, one chain link with two dogs tags hanging on them. Another, which is actually a dog collar, meant to look like a choker (though it never fit tightly enough around his skinny neck), with alternating studs and spikes, hangs a little above the dog tags. Finally, as mentioned before, Lor will occasionally wear an eye patch, though it’s all in good-fashion fun, as both his eyes can see perfectly fine. Also, a bandana or goggles are constantly worn about his forehead, ranging in colors of green, blue, red and black.
All in all, Lor looks the part of rocker, as his verging anorexic body, worn face and fashionable apparel make him look tougher, meaner, and all over bad. This image however, is hardly what Lor truly is. He simply likes the expression, comfort, and overall style.
Fairytale Appearance
- Much to Lor’s disdain, he cannot simply waltz about in his birthday suit in front of everyone. SOMETHING is supposed to cover up the naughties, which is easier said than done in a man’s case ( as compared to say, well, The Water Nix). Because of this “difficulty”, which is moreover Lor’s refusal to contain his package in something small, uncomfortable and otherwise unappealing, he is faced with his current outfit. Yeah, it sucks. However, he can’t simply skip playing the part just because he can’t be (completely) naked.
While most students portray their fairytale character at their highlighting moment of appearance, Lor portrays his as he is in the beginning; the fashionable, high-strung, and royal emperor. Due to this, Lor wears a heavy and wide royal cape, bright red in color and lined with fluffy, white trimming. The size of this cape engulfs his skinny body, leaving him to look like a big, walking, bright red bell. Because of this enormous cape, Lor doesn’t really have to wear anything else. Some students even say that he’s really naked under there, just for kicks.
Also, because the cape takes away most of the detail around his body, Lor focuses the detail on his face and hair. He starts by pulling back the majority of his hair into a small pony tail, slicking the front back to a make a rich, suave look. His face is covered with theatrical foundation, making his tan skin turn pale and fair. Bright blue contacts make his dark brown eyes turn a spectacular dark blue, which now stand out amongst the fair skin. For a final touch, he places a large, gold crown atop his head with a good number of bobby pins holding it in place no matter what manic head movement Lor makes.

How I am
- Lor is often known for being the school’s “hippie” due to his typically laidback, cool, and carefree nature. He sticks close to the quote “don’t worry, be happy”, which may, or may not, be a good thing sometimes.
On the plus side, being so at ease with life makes Lor an open and simplistic individual who’s friendly and optimistic. That, in turn, makes him a great friend and person to have around when someone’s not feeling so hot. Additionally, his relaxed lifestyle makes him a tad popular, which creates a confidence, self-assuredness, and overall cool aura about the boy.
But being a “hippie” comes with its downsides as well, such as an occasionally rebellious and wild nature, which can be seen in Lor when he wants to stand up for himself, something, or someone else. This rebel inside, combined with a build up confidence, can also make Lor a tad cocky and independent, making him sometimes feel like he can do anything. Also, when and if Lor gets angry, he tends to curse like a sailor, and even get a little more rebellious, which, although it could be taken any way, Lor considers his worst trait of all.
On the side of Lor’s typical traits, are some quirks that sometimes make him seem, well, a little strange. Lor sometimes seems to walk around and talk as though he were high, which, would lead one to expect a bit of emptiness in his noggin. But despite his slow, drawn-out way of doing things, Lor is quite smart (he just doesn’t apply himself). He can often be found using big words and throwing science in conversation, though his voice seems to contradict the words he speaks. Also, due to his upbringing, Lor has a tendency to feel “in touch” with nature, which can mean any number of things in his school life, such as the emotional way he protects plants and animals around campus, the oddity of his morning tree climb, and his ceremonial nude dance under the moon every six months. Maybe that last bit was a stretch, but the first two are a positive for Lor.
Despite these quirks and somewhat undermining personality traits, Lor is overall, a very calm, collected, and caring person; especially when it comes to girls. He’s almost always happy and laidback, up for anything, and most of all, a “hippie” till the end.
How I came to be
- When it comes to Lor and his history, it’s very obvious how he grew up to behave like he does. His parents, who were generally older than other children’s parents due to their refusal to have children until much later in their wild and eccentric life, grew up in the 60’s and 70’s, making them, of all people, true hippies. How this affected Lor’s upbringing, started right at the beginning. Like his birth, for example, which was as natural as possible (no drugs, medicines, etc.), and took place in a garden. Or perhaps his name, Loren, given to him by his mother who decided having a unisex name would make his closer to both genders. And finally, being known as a “lovechild” was probably what really molded Lor into a miniature model of his parents at an early age.
He grew up on the outskirts of a fairly large town, on a ranch that his parents turned into a sanctuary for rescued animals from all over the country (and sometimes even outside the country). His childhood was a wild one, with his parents seemingly unafraid to put the young boy near any animal, person, or other things more high-strung families might consider dangerous. He was a constant tree-climber, dirt-digger, bug-catcher and thing-eater as a child, which his parents never seemed to stop him from. Additionally, Lor was a naked child, which he enjoyed it (and still does), and Lor likes to think of that as the reason he was blessed with his fairytale character.
Despite this strange and rather uncontrolled childhood, Lor grew up to be a rather smart, morally-accepted young man, though his tendencies to act like he did around the house were a little higher than others. In elementary school it was obvious that he was very creative, and was put into a Gifted class in his fifth grade year, and continued these classes throughout middle school. His parent loved the idea that he was in a more open-ended classroom, and Lor loved being able to express himself. Because of this freedom, Lor grew up never really having restrictions, other than those set by schools or public places, making him the high school student he is today.
At the end of middle school Lor received the invitation to Ever After. His curiosity hadn’t killed him yet, and his parents were always the type to “try anything once” so Lor took all he had so far and joined the students of Ever After, only to find out that it was going to be more fun than he expected. Especially since, after spending some time at the school, Lor found out he would be playing the role of the naked emperor.
