Karma
"AGH!!! STOP KILLING ME!!!!" I said as my twin brother, Saben, beat me to a bloody pulp.
"Aw stop crying, Seth, it's just a damn game!" said Saben as he hit the buttons on the Gamecube controller.
"Aw man, gameover!" I said as i threw down the controller.
"Hahaha, you little shitbag, I beat you again!" Saben had a bad habit of cursing a lot.
"Do you HAVE to curse all the time?" I asked, irritated.
"Why the ******** not?" he sneered, mocking me.
"You know I've always been irritated by cursing," I said shoving him a bit.
"Well deal, duechebag," he laughed, "best two out of three?"
"You're on!" I said
In my bed at night I wondered why me and my brother were so different. I mean, we were born the same day, grew up around the same people, and yet he managed to be my complete opposite. Confusing, huh? That's exactly why I just yawned and fell asleep.
In the morning, I left my room in my Bam shirt and my brother came out in one of his obsene rock band shirts.
"Have a good day, boys!" my mom yelled from her car window. When she was gone, Saben turned to me.
"Hey, bro, wanna skip out on school today?" he asked.
"No! Why would I?" I yelled.
"I figured as much..." he mumbled as he took off in the direction opposite of the school.
"SABEN!!!!!" I yelled as he ran. It was futile. Even if he could hear me, he wasn't going to turn around. We had been through this before, SEVERAL times. I just sighed and turned to the school. School went by pretty normal all day until 3rd period, when the guidancee counselr came in with a solemn look on his face. He told my teacher something and she went as white as a ghost. She came to me.
"Seth, the counseler would like to see you in his office...." she said. I curiously followed the counseler into his office.
"Seth, have you ever lost some one close to you?" he asked.
"No.... why?" I asked.
"Seth.... your mother was in a car accident..." he said, looking down.
"WHAT?? She's alright, right? She survived?" I desperately asked.
"Seth... she died." he said, solemnly.
Cerise
"Cerise, you have to go!" said my father, Vermillion, ruler of Hell.
"No Daddy! I dont have to! I WON'T!" I yelled.
"Cerise.... if you ever want to rule... you need to spend one lifetime in the real world!" he said.
"Daddy, that's not the real world for me! Just because you grew up there doesn't mean I have to! I'm not going!" I said. My mother, Reiyami, came up to me She looked towards Daddy for a second.
"Vermillion, could you give us a moment alone, please?" she asked him. He shrugged.
"Well, sure, I guess." he said as he walked out.
"Cerise....."she said to me sweetly, "honey, if you are to rule, you must do this. If you dont..." she glanced at the soon to be Satan the 404th who was struggling to put on his cape "-then THATS what's going to rule all of Hell alone..." he was the one I would have to marry and rule alongside. It was a funny sight. The boy looked about 12 and he couldn't even put on a cape. I laughed.
"That.... would suck......" I said. "okay I'll do it." I said. I began to pack my bags to go live in a completely different dimension that I've never been to before.
Karma
The rest of the day was a blur. I couldn't comprehend what had just happened. MY mother? DEAD? The day passed and next thing I knew, I was waiting for my father to pick me up. An hour went by and he still didn't show up. Finally, I got up and walked home by myself with thoughts of my mother in my head. She was dead? No, she couldn't be. She wasn't dead. She was at home waiting for me with a hot steaming plate of spagetti. Even though I knew she wouldn't be there, there was a sense of shock when I got home and Mom wasn't there. I waited for Dad and Saben to return. Minutes went by and turned into hours. No Saben. No Dad. At midnight, there was a knock on the door. I asnwered itm expecting Saben or dad, but I was surprised to see, instead, a little old man.
"Seth Karma?" he asked.
"Uhm, no... Seth Karman, but close enough. What do you want?" I asked.
"Karma" he said.
"No... uhm, it's KARMAN, not Karma." I said, becoming a bit irate.
"Karma" he said once again, grabbing my hands.
"Wow, old man! I don't know you like that!" I tried to break away, but his grip was too strong.
"Karma" he said again. This time, I noticed the creepy looking chains on his wrists. All the sudden, the chains went through his hands and wrapped around mine!
"What?? What is this?" I said. My clothes glew bright blue then changed into a completely different outfit. Now, I was wearing a pair of black, baggy pants with a netted long sleeve shirt. The old man had vanished.
"Hey! Old man!" I yelled. All of the sudden, the chain on my left hand extended out into the wall of my neighbor's house and I felt it wrap around something. I felt the urge to follow, so I did. The most amazing thing happened just then. I WENT RIGHT THROUGH THE WALL! I found that inside my neighbor's house, the chain was wrapped around my neighbor, Frank Neilson, but he didn't seemed to notice me or the chain. I noticed that his wife was gone and he was with another girl- an underage one that was only sixteen- Charlie Restgil (I knew this because she had been in my spanish class in 9th gade.) he was oblivously cheating.
"So.... do you have what you promised me?" she giggled
"Oh, I got that right here..." he grinned as he began to unbutton his pants.
For some reason, i felt I knew exactly what to do. I took my right hand and flung the chain at my neighbor. As expected, he did not acknowledge it. I glew bright blue. Suddenly the door flew open. It was my neighbor's wife!
"FRANK WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!?" she yelled as she hit him with her purse.
"AH! Tabby! What are you doing home early?!" he yelled. I grinned. Now I got why that old man called it that. Hmm... Karma is a funny thing.
