Well not to long ago someone stole my identity. I am lost I have no clue what to do. They were posing as me and writing bad checks against my account and now I am in around 3100 debt. I know this sounds odd but here me out. She stole my ID and remade it with her picture on it. She used someone's checks (i have copies of all the checks) went to 7 different US Banks posing as me and cashed them. One each day from November 15th to the 17th. The funny thing is my account only had $480 in it to start with. I had bills out and sent to companys and after they went through there was only going to be around $20 in the account. (yes I know im poor but if you have children you understand) To make matters worse is US Bank kept cashing the checks after my account was negative. The first check was wrote for $500 and cashed and the teller seen that I didnt have that much in my checking account and cashed it anyhow. Oh it gets better...
She kept going from bank to bank cashing the checks against my account right. Well finally one day I get a call from Charter Communications telling me the check they tried to cash bounced. Can you believe what I did. I yelled I screamed then I looked at my online statement... -$1900 at that moment. I called US Bank and got transfered to the fraud department and needless to say they said I gotta fill out papers stating that it wasnt me who wrote the checks blah blah blah and they put a freeze on my account. Great your thinking right?! WRONG!!! The teller when they pull up your account can over ride the freezing state on the checking account. So she continued cashing checks against my account totaling at the moment -$3100.

I am writing this in here hopeing that some of you may read this and understand that identity theft is very real and although you may think it wont happen to you it could. I have a wonderful husband who works so hard and a beautiful 8month old baby boy who is growing each and every day bigger. I have nothing now because someone decided to steal my identity and ruin my life. To make things even better (yeah right) US Bank is dragging there heals in the matter and barely trying to help me. I had to open up a new checking account with a different bank praying that something doesnt happen to that account. If she got this account information wouldnt she be able to get my new account information? Please watch your accounts around the holiday season and beware of US Bank. It is a terrible thing when you find out you cant pay your gay bill and have a 8 month old son in the house. When you look at him and see that you cant do anything and have no money although both parents work full time its a terrible feeling. I pray this happens to no one else and if it has happened to you I feel your pain.
