a poem i wrote for a friend of mine
~Your View,My View~
When you look into my eyes
What do you see?
You see a strong black woman
Who always does things on her own,
Gets along with everyone,
And lives the good life
But why is it so hard for you to see the real woman within?
The one that cries every night before she goes to sleep,
The one that feels like the black sheep amongst all the other sheep,
The one that's always forgotten and left to be alone...
What do you see?
Yes, you see a strong black woman,
But the one you refuse to see
Is the one I see everyday in the mirror
Just waiting..waiting to be seen
