~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Chapter 1 – The Night Before
As Lily awoke slowly, unknowing of where she was, she opened her eyes uneasily and stretched her average built body out from under the blanket. Lily looked to be about 21 years of age, but her knowledge of their era proved differently. As Lily sat up, she tried to recall where she was. Lily tossed aside her streaked hair and closed her eyes softly. Her eyes glowed a bright red in the dim light of the room, her thoughts moved her back towards consciousness from a deep thought. Lily slowly got up from the bed trying to be as quiet as possible, her eyes trailed slowly around the room analyzing the entire space around her. It finally hit her. She began to recognize her surroundings and looked over at the man who was beside her. It was her best friend, Chris. However, what were they doing in the same bed together? Lily usually slept out on the couch in the living room so this puzzled her to the point of wanting to wake him up. Chris was about the same age as Lily and he had short black hair. But unlike Lily he had the most beautiful blue eyes. Chris had a nice body that wasn’t built very muscular. The long sleeved shirt that he wore so often covered his body, as he lay there motionless. “Chris?” Lily said softly to her friend and slowly shook him awake. Chris looked over at Lily with a smile on his face. “Good morning sweetheart!” He said as his look of joy pierced into her dazed and confused eyes. “Sweetheart?” She said as she thought and retraced all of her steps from the night before. At first Lily was confused but then Chris started explaining to her slowly exactly what had happened. Lily was lost like a lost dog searching for food, as she started to remember how much she actually cared about Chris and how she was afraid to admit it. Maybe she had told him the truth and they hooked up or maybe she was just too drunk to remember anything. Chris pointed to her hand and in a moment of shock Lily looked down. There was a beautiful ring on her finger. A tear trickled down her cheek. Is this really true? Or is he just playing tricks on me? She thought to herself. Whatever the case, she wanted to know. Chris started to explain how they had gone out the night before together, met up with some friends, and had a few too many drinks. The tears that Lily cried that day could’ve filled all the bottles of alcohol she had drank the night before. After Lily had gotten a chance to calm down, her and Chris decided they should talk things through. “I think there is a reason this happened Lily” Chris argued, trying to propose that she keep the ring. “So you’re saying this was brought to us… by fate?” Lily questioned unsure of why this would all happen in one night. “Well, I guess,” he said looking down at his feet. “You guess! What is that supposed to mean…? …You think you love me?” she mumbled softly. “I… I’m sure I love you Lily… But I am not sure it’s time. The ring just tells me that we will be together when it is time!” Chris put major emphasis on the “is”, because in his heart, and his mind. He was uncertain about his feelings for Lily and did not know if love was what he had for Lily or not. In Lily’s mind she knew she owed this to Chris. Chris was the one who had saved her from her torment. Lily had been a captive of a man named Erortigin. Erortigin had made her his slave in a castle in the cursed land of Romania. Erortigin was a first class typical Romanian vampire an elegant vampire but definitely not a gentlemen. He was waited on hand and foot. And Erortigin had made her do all the work. Poor Lily, for as long as she could remember that wretched castle had been her home. The only memory she had before than was in the form of a dream that she had every night. The dream consisted of a tall man with white long hair, who wore a huge black leather jacket, long black pants and huge black boots. His jacket was done up so not to see most of his form. The only feature that she could remember clearly was a scarred, glowing red eye, just as hers, and the hair that swept in front of them. Chris got up and looked over at the clock. “Awe…. Crap I have go to work. I’ll be back later. Just please don’t leave the house until it’s safe, okay?” Chris asked as he grabbed his stuff and waited by the door for an answer. His voice snapped her back into reality. She answered, “Yes I will, I promise.” After Chris had left, Lily had decided to give some thought to what Chris had said, “Until it’s safe, remember last night” What was that supposed to mean? She sat down in the living room where she had first slept when Chris had rescued her. As she was sitting there another thought had came to her mind. “So that’s what he meant. I remember now.” Lily thought to herself. She had remembered what had happened last night. When Chris and her were at the bar, a friend of Erortigin’s was there and had recognized her. The two ran as fast as they could out of the bar and down the dimly lit street. The man had called down the street after them, “If I don’t get you, he’ll come get you, Slave!” he shouted only for his words to disappear into the black night. That man… His face was familiar to her. Then she remembered one of the nights back at that accursed castle. That man had was the one who asked to “Have fun” with Lily. That night he had raped her and those memories continued to haunt her to this very day.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Chapter 2 - Family Greetings
On her shoulder she had a scar that was given to her by that white haired man that dwells in her dreams and deepest thoughts. Thoughts that remained with her, of that white haired man in her dreams from long ago that now are mere memories. Lily went back to remembering things about her when the telephone rang. She snapped out of her trance and answered the phone on the second ring. “Hello” She answered. “Hello, is Lily there?” An older girl’s voice asked. Lily was caught off guard so she didn’t respond right away. Why would someone call Chris’ house looking for her? “Yes, speaking,” Lily, answered slowly unsure if that was the right decision. “Hi, my name is Eve and if this is the Lily I think it is…I’m your older sister.” At that moment all sorts of thoughts rushed through her head all at once and then she answered her back. “Really, I… I didn’t know. Have we, have you ever met me. There is so much I cant remember and…” As Eve started to apologize about not trying to find her sooner, Lily could tell that she was in tears. Lily herself had cried too much that day so there was only one tear that trickled down her pale cheek. “Well is there anywhere I could meet you today Lily?” Eve asked through sobs. “Hmm… maybe if you’d come up to the apartment we could talk over everything.” Lily suggested remembering what Chris had told her and what had happened last night. “Sure. I already have the address and I can be there in an hour or so. Okay?” Eve asked her younger sister. “Okay I’ll see you soon?” “Okay. Bye.” The two hung up the phones. For the longest time all Lily did was sit there and think about how happy she was that she was going to meet her sister for what she thought was the first time. That entire hour she spent cleaning the apartment and waiting for her sister to arrive. That hour had passed and sure enough Lily heard a knock at the door soon after she had gotten off the phone. Lily hurried to the door and opened it slowly. She looked at her sister with a curious stare. Eve looked a lot older than Lily with bright blonde hair that even sparkled in the dark corridor. She had a fairly small build compared to Lily and didn’t at that point look too happy to be there. “Please come in and sit down.” Lily said trying to control that urge to hug her. Eve looked like the type of person not to be hugged she looked formal and old fashion, so Lily decided against her other idea. “Would you like anything to drink Eve?” Lily asked. “Hmm…how about some orange juice sis?” Eve asked. At that moment Lily felt that family like bond with her sister and changed her point of view on the way her sister acted. She stopped and looked into her sister’s eyes and started to understand why things had happened. “Yes right away.” Lily responded. Eve looked at her funny and then Lily went to speak again as her sister put her finger to her lips and told her to; “Shh!” And Lily again understood, she nodded and went to go get her sister a drink. The two sat down in the living room, both with a drink in hand, talked on and on for hours about why Lily was taken to that orphanage. “Well Lily I have to tell you the truth. Our Brother took you and my three children away to an orphanage about 36 years ago.” Eve explained. “But Why? And how was it 35 years…I don’t understand?” Lily asked. “Well that is a long story and I don’t want to worry you with why that is right now.” Eve told her. The two continued to talk about other concepts and Lily began to tell her tale to her sister. Lily thought to herself for a brief moment in between drinks. “If that white hair man I saw was my older brother. Then that baby that I saw was me. But I never saw the other children. Maybe he decided to take us to different orphanages?” “Lily?” Eve asked. Lily had completely zoned out and looked like she had fallen asleep standing there. “Yes Eve, I’m sorry I’m just really tired.” Lily responded. “Oh, well after this drink I think I’m going to head home and I’ll come back tomorrow and visit alright Lily?” Eve asked. “Sure, well Chris will be home any minute might I ask you to meet him.” Lily said.
At that very moment, before Eve got a chance to respond the door started to slowly open. Chris had just gotten home from work a bit earlier than usual. “And here he is now.” Lily said as she rushed over to the door and took his jacket. “Well honey how was work? Oh by the way I’d like you to meet my sister, Eve.” Lily tried to say all in one breath. “Lily calm down already.” Chris laughed. “I think we’ve met before actually. I was the one who gave Eve our number and address. It was supposed to be a surprise for you.” Chris said. “That’s right Lily and is this your husband?” Eve asked. “No fianc饠but pretty close.” Chris answered. “Well I must be going now good-bye Chris, good-bye Lily. I’ll see you tomorrow Lily.” Eve said. The three said there good-byes and Eve left. Lily and Chris both looked at each other and Lily smiled for the first time actually meaning it.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Chapter 3 – A New Face
Returning home to the castle where she was working Eve headed back up to her room where another slave was covering for her. Her image stayed the same as the moonlight lit up the dark corridor but as she passed into a pool of shadows Eve’s image changed. She now had long black hair and a very pale and stern face. Eve knocked and opened door slowly. Sathara turned and looked at her fellow slave. “What took you so long? Master was asking for you earlier, and I had to say that you were sick upstairs. I don’t like lying to him he’s very good at finding my lies.” Sathara said. “I know my sister kept me a little longer than expected. I’m so glad I got a chance to see her. Thanks for helping me Sathara. Would you like to come with me tomorrow? We can skip breakfast and lunch services. Come on?” Eve pleaded. “Oh alright but let’s not let Baku know we’re gone. I will leave my shadow to cover. God I hope she doesn’t screw up again!” Sathara thought out loud to Eve. “So it’s settled we’ll go see my sister tomorrow instead of serving master.” Eve said. And the two went off to bed for tomorrow was going to be a busy day. Meanwhile back at Lily and Chris’ apartment the two ran into one of the big arguments they’d be seeing more of. Lily was furious with Chris’ incapability to get along, so she decided to sleep out on the couch that night. As she laid there, her glowing red eyes pierced through the darkness of their living room. Alone Lily started to feel that longing to be hugged and cuddled so she decided to apologize for what Chris had done and cuddle under the warm blankets with whom she had almost decided to love for the rest of her life. Lily and Chris were both still having second thoughts about the marriage but they wouldn’t admit it to each other. This was going to become a big problem and the thing is Chris knew the entire time that it wasn’t going to work. Lily had cuddled up to Chris, as he to was lying awake in bed thinking about their decision. The next morning Chris left for work while Lily was still sleeping and when she woke up, she was all-alone in the apartment. Confused Lily searched the house for her Fianc饠she heard a knock at the door. Quickly Lily ran into her room and changed to go answer the door. As she opened the door she saw Eve and an unfamiliar face. Lily invited the two in for drinks when Lily noticed an older woman with long black hair that lay down her chest. She was wearing quite expensive and very civilized clothing including a long black dress with a dark cloak over her shoulders. “So Eve this is your sister.” The woman paused, holding out her hand. “ Nice to meet you… Lily was it” Lily nodded at the woman’s question. “My name’s Sathara I’m Eve’s friend.” She introduced herself and put out her hand to shake. Lily shook her hand and looked at her for a split second and in a flash her memory started to appear in her head. She saw another older man who turned to a young child and slashed her across the shoulder with a long silver blade and at the hilt was a black lily. ”With this mark I will always see you my young sister. I will watch over you and whenever you are in danger I will save you from harm.” And her vision ended with Eve bringing her back to conciseness. “Lily are you okay?” Eve asked. “Hmm…yes I’m fine don’t worry just got a sudden cold chill. You know what that’s like don’t you?” Lily covered the truth so that her sister didn’t think that she was crazy. “No she’s not and you know it!” Sathara said to Eve privately by telepathy. “I know but it’s just her starting to regain her memory that’s all.” She talked back through their minds. Lily was quickly busied getting everyone drinks and tidying the table. “Well Lily would you like to come out with us today? We have much to talk of.” Eve asked. “I…I don’t know Chris asked me not to leave the house and I’d like to respect his wishes…but?” Lily stuttered trying to avoid leaving the apartment. “Oh come on young one experience life before you get tied down trust me I’d know.” Sathara pleaded. That statement really stuck out to Lily being a slave for so long at such a young age she knew that there was a lot out there she hadn’t experienced. “Oh alright fine I’ll come out with you guys but only for an hour or two.” Lily responded. “Yes!” Eve shouted. “See I knew you would understand. You and I have a lot in common that you wouldn’t understand quite yet.” Sathara said as she put back on her boots and reached for the door handle. Just before Sathara touched the door handle Chris opened the door and almost swung it in her face. In an instant Sathara put out her hand and stopped the door. “Excuse me!” She said when she looked over to Chris. “Watch what you’re…doing…Chris?” Sathara spoke uneasily. She starred at him closely for a minute. “Sathara is that you? I haven’t seen you since mom sent you to school.” Chris said. Lily at this moment was royally confused. “Okay hold on! How do you know each other?” Lily questioned. “Well it’s a really long story and I guess we’ll sit down and talk about it.” Sathara said.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Chapter 4 – More Family Issues
“As long as you promise not to tell anyone I can reveal to you the truth about Chris and I.” Sathara said with that look of worry piercing into Lily’s eyes. Lily nodded, as a sign of agreeing to keep whatever Sathara was about to say a secret. “Well Chris and I are brother and sister, he is my younger brother born from both the same parents but a little different then my sister and I. Anita and I are twins and Chris is the younger and less intelligent child.” Sathara explained. “Hey I take offense to that! It’s not my fault dad wouldn’t let me get a proper education.” Chris interrupted. “Chris you’re going to let me tell my side of the story or else!” Sathara yelled pointing at her now very aggravated tail that was swaying behind her head. Chris glared at her and went back to listening for he knew to be afraid of that tail from past experiences. “Anyways, as I was saying. Chris was the dumb one in the family and wasn’t respected in court so he was exiled when he turned 17 for rapping an innocent girl.” Sathara stated as she glared at her brother. “Stop it Sathara that’s a lie and you know it. I didn’t rape her she was willing.” Chris shouted. As Chris raised her voice Sathara’s tail struck him across the face with the blunt side of the spikes and made him bleed. “You insolent little fool I should kill you for that. Don’t you dare raise your voice at me again! You should know better than that by now.” Sathara started to state this in an angry tone and slowly got calmer. She sat smiling as Chris covered his face in fear. “Other than that there’s really not much to say. Chris if you’ll excuse us we’re taking your fianc饠out for a while. Good-bye.” Sathara said as she took Lily’s hand and pulled her out of her chair and looked over to Eve. “It was nice seeing you again Chris. You should go get that checked out too it looks like it’s going to swell up soon.” Eve said as she got up and followed Sathara to the door. “Wait! Chris is it alright for me to go with them?” Lily asked. Sathara quickly glared at Chris to ensure his cooperation. “Yes it’s fine Lily I went and dealt with it.” Chris said. And without another word Lily, Eve and Sathara left the apartment and headed into town. As Chris was left at home he looked over to the phone, decided to pick the phone up, and dialed a number. “Hello I need to speak with Lord Erotigin…” Meanwhile out in the streets Sathara, Eve and Lily were trying to fit in as best as possible, which wasn’t really going too well. “Eve! That’s my tail get off of it will you!” Sathara screamed. Eve nodded and stepped off Sathara’s rather demonic tail. “I’m sorry Sathara. It just kind of gets in the way sometimes and well maybe you need to keep it tucked in your cloak. There are many people in this city that don’t really prefer of vampires to be out in broad daylight.” Eve spoke softly to her. “Well sorry I’m not a ******** angel like you then!” Sathara yelled at Eve making her feel quite good about herself. Sathara drawing almost the entire streets attention towards location decided to be even louder. “Well girl it’s time to teach you the ropes and let you know exactly what we know about you.” Sathara spoke suddenly keeping Eve away from spoiling her fun.
