Fluttering in the Breeze
You are like a tree
In the spring with its
New green leaves and little flowers
Fluttering in the breeze.
You protect me from
The cold hammering rain
And the northern wind
With your branches and canopy.
Your branches are arms
Hugging me when needed
And keeping me
On my own to feet.
You have a trunk
For whenever I need
Something to lean on
And think things through.
You are also
Like a dolphin
Swimming in the
Deep, blue ocean.
You always want to
Hang on for the ride
So you ride along the boat
And jump around.
You jump through hoops
That are suspended in the air
Because you like to have fun
And put on a show.
You make every day
New and exciting
And I never want to
See you leave.
