YAY! My poem got entered into a contest and is going to be published! The problem is...I don't know which one it was. So one of these must be the winner. Constructive Critisism is accepted. Oh yeah. My favorite one was the winter river, the other ones I just thought up off the top of my head.
The Ouka (Cherry Blossom)
Ouka of the fields which go on forever, The pale black tree, The ghastly, charcoal bark flows in the wind with ghostly hands. But then little do they know, It lays a treasure inside its ashy trunk.
Behold for the once dreary sad looking trees Are now lush pink nimbuses! Each blossom, So tiny so small Adds to the effect of beauty!
To myself as I think, It is the breath of the spirits upon your face...
The Confession of Rain Listen to the rain Oh the beautiful rain!
The pitter patter of the drops, The crash of thunder, The flash of lightning!
All of them screaming you to sing of your soul, Spread your wings, Tell of your life...
But then, What is rain more than falling water? Only the unwise believe in such things... But the unwise may see what others do not.
The Winter River
What majestic beast the river is! How strong it goes! As it battles ice with power! Through the cold and dreary snow.
It continues to run, with vigor Through cracks, crevices, and chinks. How the mighty ice has failed to seal, And the river! Oh river! How it fights to run!
Then! The river roars for more speed, Through curves, bends, and missing ends. Nature has carved stone. Her Pieta, The chiseled stone. As the icy wind howls.
