The idea of the self,
Is so much like a shelf.
You get to pick which one
You get to pick which kind.
It may be sweet and wonderful,
some days it’s just divine.
It may be sad and sorrowful,
Some days it’s just terrified.
A range of emotions it can portray,
It might be cluttered and look astray.
A smile, a wink, could it suffice?
To show a million shades of deep inside.
A profession yearned,
A place desired,
A scenery all but created by the mind?
A cut, a wig, a scar combined,
A shade, a tone, tattoos of what line?
Clothing—
a hat, top, or bottom?
Or a creature
It all depends on what you fathom.
You have these abundant pixels combined,
I use them all to show you my frame of mind.
