So coming home from a semi-drunken night. I wasnt drunk, I was just a lil happy, tipsy. Not too bad though, since I was able to drive and everything.
Notice: This is in no way encouraging drunk driving. Believe me, driving even slightly inebriated is not cool and surely is not fun. You might think you're okay but once you sit down...sometimes its like "whoa, how am i still moving if im sitting down?" So kids: NO DRUNK DRIVING. COERCE SOMEONE INTO BEING A DD.
Allright now that thats out of the way- on with the story. As usual, I casually (or so i thought) toss my cell onto my bed since my charger is near there. Apparently, I put a little more force than I thought and it bounced onto the floor. No biggie, right?
Wrong. Woke up next morning - screen black. Everything else still worked but I had no idea what I was doing aside from what I could remember with my hotkeys and what not. Because I hate random/private numbers and because sometimes you just dont feel like talking to certain people - this situation was unacceptable.
For once, I decided to get in gear and not procrastinate. Off to T-mobile( my provider - no choice had to stay with them) to get myself a new phone. Looking around, I figure I might as well upgrade my cellphone situation; even though it really is an unexpected higher end expense. But still i gets the Blackberry Pearl.
Nice phone and everything. Only problem: all my phone numbers and etc are on my other screen dead phone and no i didnt save them to my sim card.
After mass confusion and a lot of messing around online I find sites and programs that help me get info off my phone. The day I begin to put my plan into action, I grab my mom's phone (same model as my old phone- just for reference) and connect the phone to the computer. I turn it on and what do you know.....
stupid, sob, b*****d of a phone decides to work properly again.
stressed scream scream stressed <----- Swear to you, exactly what my facial expressions where at the time.
So here is my note to self and to others that wish to take this advice:
When dealing with technological problems, always give it some time to recover and exhaust all inexpensive, simple fix possibilities before moving on to the more expensive solutions.
