Random Dream Thoughts
I Lie in my bed at night,
Thinking of all the things I could have done to change my fate.
Paranoia owns my mind
As I ask myself "what if?"
Like what if I'd done my homework?
Or what if I'd lost a good friend?
What if I decide to pray tonight?
Will my sorrows end?
As I doze, though, my cares fade.
I hope to dream a vivid dream,
Where I can kick the world, metaphorically.
And bask in my deepening apathy.
Maybe I'll dream of a sunset,
Where I can lie down and relax.
Maybe I'll be in another place
That I know could never be fact.
Maybe I'll dream I'm another.
Who worries none of strife
Someone who has no worries
And never asks himself:
Is This My Life?
Maybe I'll dream of the night
Where the clouds bathe in the moon's light.
Maybe I'll fly through realm of the stars.
With newfound wings like a string-less kite.
Whatever I see when I close my eyes
Makes life seem an arguous quest,
But The Sandman's my best friend-
When I lay down to rest.
