Well, lets see, I've never been much of a writer, but my parents did buy me this journal, so I suppose I should use it. What is this, the second gift they've ever given me? But I really don't blame them; hunters don't exactly get a huge salery... actually we don't get one at all. And if they ever did get any money of their own, it would be spent on buying more weapons for the complex or other such improvements. The other gift they got me was a dagger. I got it on my tenth birthday and still use it today. It was from that store that sells really fancy and expensive weapons, though my dagger's not too flashy. I'm suprised they bought something from there at all; it is owned by a vamp and a wolf after all. An odd truce. Heh, Edmund still bothers me about that dagger, he calls it dainty. Since when can a dagger be dainty? Especially one Lanica would buy. My mom that is; getting odd looks from people when I called her "mom" got old by the time I was six. And my dad's name is Aubrey. I suppose I should introduce myself too. My name is Vinier Valens, I'm 26 years old and I live and work in the hunter complex, Alder. I also have a little brother named Cyril; he's 15. Being a hunter is always diffficult, but especially when you're a teenager. Lanica and Aubrey are the only two hunters that have had kids in this complex. Although I wouldn't go so far as to say they had a life. I'm still not completly convinced that they actually liked eachother when I was born. Oh, they were married and all, they're always good Christians, but I still think that the only reason they had a kid was to have an heir. It would be an odd coincidence if the two strongest hunters in the entire world just happened to fall in love. They don't even believe in love... of course I don't mean offence! Either way, in all the other complexes lives are aloud, at least to an extent. But the Alder Complex is different. Only already trained hunters can stay here. And if you want a kid, you can leave. Not that anyone actually would. It takes a lot to get here and no one's leaving. Of course me and Edmund were the exeptions... and Tammy, but she died a while ago. I was born here and Tammy came when she was a few months old. Then Edmund came a few years later. Both of them were orphans, Tammy by a couple of vamps and Edmund by a wolf(though it ended up being for the better since he was apperantly abused as a kid) But a while ago, when we were younger and much less expeirenced hunters, we wondered off from the group that was chaperoning us and were attacked by a group or vampires. And Tammy died.... Hm, I wrote a lot more than I though I would, but I guess that's it for now.
