Buy my furniture item, [Golden Lamp, Mana Tree Lamp, etc.] it's worth as much as the marketplace says! The cheapest is 20,000 gold, take a look for yourself [link to market search]. I'll trade your donation item for it!
It's an obvious scam. A scam is by definition a lie or trickery in order to make a profit. And yet anyone who reported this to the mods, for months had to debate whether it was a scam or not. And then, September 22nd we get this posted in the Exchange: link.
Why are the mods like this on Gaia? I dislike the attitude of "Well, it's not *technically* wrong..." Yes it is wrong. Moderators are there to provide a human understanding of the technical laws. They are there to stop people from exploiting loopholes when they find them.
It shouldn't take arguing in Site Feedback to get the point across. Everyone knew it was a scam from the beginning, just like all the other ones before. "Highest donator gets my Kiki Kitty! / I'll trade you this giftbox, it may or may not have the item inside, it's a gamble!" Anyone with half a brain can see these can be used for scams, therefore it's your job to protect people from it, not argue the letter of the law. People WILL try to abuse the system and any glitches or loopholes. When you know this you won't naively pass these things off as innocent.
I really don't understand why things are run this way when on other sites mods take their responsibility much more seriously. Why do issues take months to reach the same conclusion that the first person who reported it brought up?
I realize this sounds harsh, but when you're in a position of responsibility this is your job, even if you are a volunteer. The only reason people do stuff like this is to try and take advantage of others, you should know that.

I mean it's common sense. If a user wants to trade 200 gold for the panda pack then they should realize that they are selling it for that price. I just think it's user's responsibility to look after their stuff.
As for the kiki that is an obvious scam to me as well. @___@; I didn't know that this type of trading was going on for years though. Eep. >___<
