Well.. I've been doing some deep thinking lately. :D
I was thinking whether I should take up commissioning on Gaia again. Usually I've been letting people PM me and then we decide on a price, pose, type, etc. It's a little annoying though, when there are those little users that think it's okay to ask for art and pay 500-1000g for a Half Body to full body CG.

I was thinking I'd use my wishlist instead for this commissioning process. Like, people could give me the items that I want, and I draw the art that YOU want. Seems simple enough right? It could even be combinations of items that I want, as long as it adds up to a price that I'd be willing to do some art for. Of course, the higher the amount of gold in the category, I think the work would be a little more detailed and harder worked on. ^.~ And the items would only be commons though, I'd get Casino Items and Uncommons by myself obviously. XD

The rates would be as follow.. I'm still in the planning process of this, no samples yet:

Items worth up to 1000g to 1999g: Half body sketch with shading
Items worth up to 2000g to 2999g: Full body sketch with shading
Items worth up to 3000g to 3999g: CG headshot
Items worth up to 4000g to 4999g: CG Bust shot (up to chest basically)
Items worth up to 5000g to 5999g: CG half-body
Items worth up to 6000g to 6999g: CG from head to thighs
Items worth up to 7000g to 7999g: CG full-body
Items worth above 12000g to 20000g: CG couple shot, most likely up to waist
Items worth above 20000g.. : I have no ******** idea what I would do for that amount, seriously. O_O

I don't know how fair this is, but since it's items, the values really would range if you used items to pay. Any feedback on this idea really would be great. I don't think I could open up this offer until spring next year after college applications are over. Obviously, I'd try do my best work regardless of how low in the range the value of the items are. I'm just a little tired with being PMed for commissions and all the haggling and such, even though it's not a lot, and I'd actually prefer it that way.

Anyways, yeah, I think this would be a good way for me to clear off my wishlist, that's pretty much it. I have the gold, but Im always reluctant to spend for the really expensive items. And I think it's a good way for those with items in their inventory they don't really want, but are on my wishlist, they could use to commission me for some art.

Well, what do you think?

The amount of time that goes into a piece should also be included within the price. Honestly I think those prices are pretty cheap, because goodness knows I've seen works go for far more than that even though the artist's works weren't that great.

DA won't let me access your gallery right now so I can't really see how varied your art is, but depending on how many styles you can do (regarding coloring and what not) you should probably include that too. As well as the price for backgrounds, which are best left as a seperate thing: For example, when it comes to backgrounds, I base the price on the complexity of it. If it's super detailed you can bet that it'll be expensive (but reasonably so of course), but if it's something relatively simple, the price won't be as heavy.

But for now, you can try and stick with those prices (although going for numbers like 7,500 or 5,000 are less deceitful than 7,999. XD Might as well go with 8,000) and see how that goes. Sometimes people will actually offer more, and in that case, you can easily bump up the prices some.
