Dream centers on a guy who suddenly gains powers of some sort and he's figuring them out while keeping it on the down low.

Whenever he's "resting", wrappings appear on his body, making him look like a burn victim, with only his face sticking out.

The guy's abilities are nature magic focused. Hypersensitive to his surroundings and potential danger, to the point where during a basketball match he can get the ball in the hoop effortlessly every time, even when deliberately trying not to. Not sure why he had ice abilities, but that was a thing. Temperature regulation? Earth magic which he learns to control on the fly, creating nearly invisible tall thin spikes to redirect the ball mid-game.

And then there's another guy, a hunter of sorts who's looking for this new magical source to force them to drink an incomplete potion to lock away abilities. This guy happens to be playing basketball with the other guy and seems suspicious, but doesn't make a move yet.

The potion is normally offered to magical people that don't want their abilities anymore however, this version of the potion offered by the hunter causes chronic pain and presumably more pain the more magic one holds. He has the other half of the potion on hand but... only gives it to those he deems worthy or who have groveled satisfactorily.
