Once again, I've found myself browsing through the ED boards and finding much more yammering over one pointless theme.
Perhaps one will notice that my words aren't quite as colorful now, I'm so drained from going round and round with people who refuse to be enlightened.
You know the crowd I'm talking about. The type that hang out in boards such as, say, Gay vs. Bible type. I cannot believe how much time was spent mudslinging and nit picking at each other's beliefs and 'faults' and lack of knowledge of the Bible. stare
The sad fact is that as I am typing in my journal, I'm still arguing with the Christians. Apparently, Hitler and Stalin are revelant to homosexuality. 3nodding
Enough beating around. Of course, someone had to go and stir up the topic 'Why do people say the Bible is against homosexuality', blah blah, sparking off those people who speak against homosexuality, and yet 'aren't against it themselves'.
Ironic, isn't it?
Outside references are also not allowed in this chat, claims a few of the topic users. Because we must rely solely on what is written in the Bible to make our refeerences, yadda.
If that was true, this argument would not be taking place anyway, if people only took from the Bible what was written.
I don't believe in a lot of the parts of the Bible. I don't think it's revelant to modern society. I believe there is a God, whatever name you place on him/her/it. So apparently this makes me the big bad agnostic from hell.
When mentioning that the people were posting 'facts' all based on the idea that the person reading believed in the Bible, I was flamed that the question was based on someone who believes in the Bible.
Uhm, read topic again, shall we?
Asking why people say that, not 'Is it true?'
Good God, go back to seventh grade Literature class.
