Day 0
Friday The 7th:
Destination: Killeen Airport
Skin Status: Whiiiiiiiiiite
Description: woke up at about 8:00am and awaited news on my dads return. At 9:00am heard that my dad had made it to dallas, and would be at the killeen airport at around 2:00pm that day. At 1:00pm went to Ft. Hood post to go to the Commissary for food for our upcoming trip, then went to a place to buy Disney World Hopper Tickets. Then went to DMV at about 1:30pm and got a new Driving permit casue i lost my old one in my wallet. Then at 2:00pm went to Killeen airport to pick up my dad. Got there on time, but his flight was not. He got there around 2:30pm. It was awsome to see my dad again, after 7 months in Iraq. It was great, we went home, and he got out of his BDU's and took a shower, the first one in 3 days, casue he was stuck in the Kuwait airport trying to catch a plane out. After his showeer we all relaxingly went for a swim. it awsome, me and him even had a one-on-one water basketball game. First to 25 wins. i did good and was winning 5-3 then he caught up and the score got all the way up to 21-10 with him in the lead. Then it got worse and it was 23-12, him. Then all the sudden i got a huge comeback, and got all the way to 23-18, then 24-22, he was still winning, but i had a chance, but, it ended up him scoring his last shot the next play, so i lost, still can't beat my old man, but i will someday... Anyways it was fun, we went to bed early that night knowing what was to come the next morning...
Day 1
Saturday The 8th:
Destination: Jameson Hotel; Ft. Wathen, Florida
Skin Status: White
Description: Woke up early in the morning to start our long and tedious trip to Orlando, Florida. We went all the way to Florida that day, and stayed at a hotel in Ft. Wathen, We all took turns driving, we went through Louisana, which had alot of swamps and crapy roads, then we went through Mississippi, which was pretty kewl, there we saw some gambling casino cruise ship thingies, it was pretty kewl. then we went through Alabama, and then, finnaly Florida. That night we stayed at a hotel in, like i said before, Ft. Wathen.
Day 2
Sunday the 9th:
Destination: Westgate Leisure Resort; Orlando, Florida
Skin Status: White
Description: Woke up, and hit the road again, we arrived at the resort in orlando at about 5:00pm, the rest of the day We just settled in, unpacked, and relaxed. The resort was nice, we had a two room apartmet, with a kitchen, my mom and dad in one room, aubs and I in the other, i slept on a trundle bed and aubs slept on the main bed. The kitchen was nice, it was actully bigger than outs in Germany 0_0
Day 3
Monday the 10th:
Destination: Cocoa Beach, Florida
Skin status: Tan
Description: woke up early the next morning, packed the cooler, and off to the beach we go! Cocoa Beach was about an hour away, so it wasnt that bad. We got to the beach, man what an awsome view it was! the last time i saw the atlantic ocean was from the inside when i was in Normandy, France. But then it was too cold for swimming, but this time, it was HOT. But it was worth it, the water felt so good, and the waves were so kewl, and the babes were so hot. aw man, it was a blast, we stayed there the whole day, it was awsome. we brought little pool rafts with us, and we used those as boogie boards and after awhile we rode some waves (when we figured it out) It was a blast. Lots of fun. And it was great hanging out with my dad again. aww man. it was great. Well, then, at the end of the day, we washed Off, and went back to the resort and had a great night sleep.
Day 4
Tuesday the 11th:
Destination: Disney MGM Studios, Florida
Skin Status: Dark Tan
Description: Wow, MGM was great, it was really kewl. We first got there, and road the Hollywood; Tower of Terror, it was pretty kewl, it had to so with the Twilght Zone. And then it was like the dungon drop, except the set was an elevator, it was really kewl. Next we went on Aerosmith, it was pretty kewl, they had a little screen near the end of the Que Line, with the badn on it, pretending that there talking to you, then they say there going to a concert, and they want you to come, so they get you and the other people a super fast limosine: the roller coaster. Its pretty kewl, and fast, and goes upside down and all that humba bumba, and its all indoor. and at the exit of the ride is the red carpet, since you are the bands "special guests". Well, then after that we headed to The Great Movie Ride. Which was prettu kewl. IN the que line, we saw at the actual fur coats that the kids used in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion the which and the wardrobe. it was really kewl, we also saw the whip and a monkey mask that was used in Indiano Jones, and we also saw the merry-go-round horse that mary popping rode. all the props were really kewl to see in person. Then, finnaly we got to the ride, it was a relaxing slow paced ride that strolled you along diffrent movies sets, such as John Wayne, INdiana Jones, and The Wizard of Oz. Some characters would ven interact with other movie sets, such as a bank robber from an old gang movie, using us as a getaway car, then going through diffrent sets, then when we got to Indiana Jones, she tried to steal a jewel from the temple and died in a trap. so the ride was kewl. Walking around the park we saw Daisy Duck, Donald Duck, Tigger, goofy, the power rangers, and other characters. After that we went to a show called, "Lights, Motors, Actions" It was really kewl! WE got to see a scene from a new movie coming out being filmed! it was a car chase scene, it was really kewl, explosians, jumping off buildings, fire, it was AWESOME. We also saw a scene being played out from indiana jones, it was awsome. Then we also went on some other good rides. We also go to play "Who Wants to be a millionaire" it was really kewl, being n the audiance, and watching the people play, and the stage was really kewl, with all the lights. We also got to go through a Chronicles of Narnia thing, where it showed other props, such as the white witched sled, the battle uniforms, and some weapons and sculptures that were in the movie. Then we saw a walk through history thing of Walt Disney, about where he grew up, hw he got into the business, that sorta of thing, then we also saw a movie about it. Then we also had a backlot tour, were we saw some kewl stuff, like how a water movie might be filmed, like "Pearl Harbor". Then at the end of it we saw props from old movies, like the umbrella from Batman, that the penguin used, and the suit that darth vador wore, and qualla da ville from 101 dalmations, and the alien suit from "aliens" and alot more, it was really amazing. Lets see... We Did some other kewl stuff then went home and went to bed.
Day 5
Wednesday the 12th:
Destination: Magic Kingdom
Skin Status: Dark Dark Tan
Description: This place was pretty fun, they had some good rides. First we go into the park, first ride we go on was Pirates of The Carribeean (Sp.?) it was ok, it was just a boat ride through diffrent scenes of the movie it was relaxing and the effects were really neat, no thrill though. After that we went on a jungle cruise, it was a boat that went through diffrent replicated rivers of the world, such as the congo, the amazon, and other famous rivers with mechanical animals. After that we went on this log ride that was from "Song of the South" it was really kewl scenary and at the end was a huuuuge drop, it was kewl, and we only got a little wet. After that we went on a mountain roller coaster, which was pretty fun, it was simple, but fun. After that we went to the haunted mansion, which wasnt really scary, but it was kewl seeing how they made stuff, like holograms. later on we went on a stich ride, were we were new recruits working for the jail cells that hold aliens, and stitch came in and escaped and we were there and he was all around us, it was pretty kewl, he ate someones "chilli cheese dog" and then he burped, and when he did, warm smelly air came out from our seats and onto our necks, lol, it really smelled like a chilly cheese dog. after that, which was really fun, we did buzz lightyear, which was just shooting targets for score, the scoby-doo one at 6 flags was better, but it was still ok. my dad won though, but only because his score glitched up,and the far right digit went to one at the very beggining. Well lets see, after that we saw a 3-D Mickey movie with donald duck it was really kewl. donald got stuck in other disney stuff, for example, when we went througha alladin, they were singing "a whole new world" and when they were flying through the clouds, it felt like we really were becasue they were blowing wind on us, and we went to the little mermaid, they had water spray on us, and when they were at beuty and the beast, when the cake came out we could actully smell it! it was awsome, really kewl. After that we toured through Minne and Mickey's House. it was kewl, seeing where they lived and stuff. heh. We did some other things that were pretty kewl also, and at the end of the day, at night, we saw a huge parade and fire works, the fire works were amazing, it was long and awsome, at the time of the fire works we were on top of a building waiting for a ride so we had a perfect view of the fire works going over the disney castle. it was awesome.
Day 6
Thursday The 13th:
Destination: Blizzard Beach
Skin Status: Started to get burns on face and upper back
Description: As the name gives away, this is a ski lodge themed water park, scenerary was pretty good. They had a wave pool, some other little rides that a water park normally has, BUT, the main attraction is in the center of the park: Summit Plummit. Summit Plummit has been clocked as the FASTEST Water slide in the U.S. gaining speeds clocked up to 68 MPH at a 150 ft practticly straight drop down. Scary, but awsome. The Line was an hour long, but it was WORTH it. felt like a straight drop down untill it catches you at the bottom, it hurts, but its worth the thrill. The ride is also known for its number of cloting have been torn off. Even while we were there a fourteen year old girl lost her top, she was embarresed, i felt bad for her. at about 5:30pm it started to pour down rain, so we didnt get to do anything else casue they shut it down, so we left. But i still had a good time.
Day 7
Friday The 14th:
Destination: Typhoon Lagoon
Skin Status: Burnt on face
Description: Also as the name suggests, the theme of this water park is a lagoon after a typhoon hit. Scenery consists of broken huts, old bridges, and objects of that sort. Now Typhoon has some pretty good attractions, such as a water roller coaster, Kumunga Kowabungo, a steep body slide, and also Typhoon Lagoon's Main attraction, the surf pool, the surf pool is pretty much like a really big wave pool, this surf pool has the biggest Man made waves in the U.S. with waves as high as 6 feet tall! Bigger then most waves out in the ocean! The huge machine projects a huge wave every 90-110 Seconds, during the time the its not projecting a wave, its resetting itself to project another one. its also speially designed so that the wave will either carry you, or bypass you, not slam into you. The other main attraction at typhoon lagoon is the shark reef, where you snorkel in a reef with real fish and sharks! it was pretty kewl. Then, after a long nice day at typhoon lagoon, we went home and my uncle tim,(my dad's brother) came to visit us (he lives in tampa) he spent the night in the resort with us.
Day 8
Saturday The 15th:
Destination: Cocoa Beach; Pirates Show
Skin status: Burnt Badly on face, shoulders, and upperback. Slight blistering occured.
Description: Woke up early, and all went to Cocoa beach, before we actully got to the beack, we went to Ron Jon's Surf Shop, and bought 3 boogieboards. Then all of us, including uncle Tim, went to the beach and had lots of fun, riding waves, messing around, digging for crabs, man, it was awesome, and lots of fun. Then afterwards, we went back to the resort to get cleaned up and go to the dinner show "Pirates" Uncle Tim also left. Then we went to pirates, it was really kewl show, and we also had a full course dinner with it while watching the show, with amazing stunts, and plenty of audience participation. the center of the srage was actuly a boat and had water around it, it was so kewl. they did kewl stunts, and the actull story line was great too. I can't describe how much fun it was. an the food was great to, the waited ur every need during the show, as much beer and soft drinks and food as you wanted! and after words great dessert and even coffee. i thinkthe tickets were like $140 each, but it was worth it, the show was amazing. Well then, after that we headed back to the resort.
Day 9
Sunday The 16th:
Destination: Sea World; Cocoa Beach hotel
Skin status: Severe burns started to form one big dead layer of skin around the face like a mask during the day, at the end of the day, severe peeling, scabbing, and shedding of skin occured.
Description: Sea World was really kewl, better than the one in san antonio i think. we got in free casue of the military, other wise it would have cost $61 each. Anyways, the Kraken was a really awsome rolle coaster, it went upside down steep drops, really good. Then after that we did "Journey into atlantis" a really good log ride, very very steep, and it even went on a roller coaster like track near the end, it was outstanding. Then of course, we saw the shamu show, that was kewl, i forgot how kewl sea world is! Lets see... we saw penguins, hehe, there kewl, and we saw huge sharks, manta rays, moray eels, trigger fish, grunt fish, barrucuuda's, hammer head sharks, dragon fish, scorpian fish, all man, so many, it was so kewl. We go to pet manta rays, sting rays, blus spotted rays, and i even got to pet a dolphin! it was so kewl, it just came up to me and i pet t while it went by, it felt kewl, i meant the sting rays were kewl to but the dolpin was amazing. oh, lol, and from beneath the dolphin underwater viewing thing, we saw dolohin sex, lol it was so funny, the guys were just chasing after the girls with there things trying to hump then, we were laughing, then a little kid said"look there fighting" then our whole family just burst out laughing, it was so funny. and we also go to see little alligators, and we also go to see maneetees, they were huge! and also we saw a balooga whale, a walrus, the walrus was kewl, it would press up against the glass where we were. and my personal favorite, the polar bear! it was so kewl, we saw it catch fish and eat it, and we saw it swim around, it was so amazing, we would wave to him and he would come look at us right there under water with the glass. he was sop kewl, he swam like a human, and he got around alot underwater he pushed off with his huge paws! it was so kewl. Sea world was pretty kewl. then after that, we went to cocoa beach where are hotel was, since out time at the resort was up, we decided to stay an extra day, for a certain reason too...
Day 10
Monday The 17th:
Destination: Space Shuttle Landing Site; The Adam's House (Houston)
Skin Status: More Severe peeling and scabs forming; Mom says they'll leave scars.
Description: Woke up early, and watched the news to see when or if the Discovery would land in florida like it was scheduled to. When we found out it was, that was our cue, we got in the car and drove to the best place we could find to et a good view of the space shuttle landing, so we got to the edge of the indian river, witch was the fartherst we could go, they were to land on the other side of the river. So we waited, and waited, and listend to the radio, and finnaly BOOM BOOM!!!!!!!!!! We heard two huge Sonic booms! and for those of you who dont know, a sonic boom happens when something goes faster than the speed of sound and all the air is pushed away from the object and is compressed and makes the sonic boom, in fact, the sound a real whip makes is a sonic boom, you know, the crack of the whip, and i mean a real whip, not a towel thing, so when the space shuttle came in we could hear 2 very loud sonic booms, which could be heard across the whole state of florida. then we saw it, flying into the runaway, it was kewl, a one time in your life kinda thing, it was amazing... so then, after that amazing experiance, we left for Texas, man what a long drive, we drove right through the night, and im writing this blog right now, in the car, so ill copy and past this onto the blog when i get home...so...in fact its 2:00pm right now, so i need to go to the next day!
Day 11
Tuesday The 18th
Destination: The Adam's house (Houston); Home, Harker Heights
Skin Status: Not much left to peel...
Description: 2:00 in the morning, and 8 minutes from the adam's house, so.... i guess thats it, ill update more as the time comes, and btw, the day are numbered casue my dad gets 14 days home, so yep, ttyl! bye!_______________________________________________________
Well, we got to the Adam's house at 2:30am, and went to bed right away, i got up at about 7:30 and hung out with the Adam's Girls, then at about 3:00pm we left for home, the, i got home, so..here i am! Trying to spend as much time with dad as possible before he goes back to Iraq.
In Conclusion: I Had a great time, and more is to come before my dad leaves, so, untill next time, oh yeah, and pics of the vacation coming to a blog near you!
