------Dan woke up, sitting on a tree branch, his sword, which was more of a dagger since it was only a foot long, including the hilt, tied to it. His shirt was red as was his scarf. He untied his sword and hopped down out of the tree, he only stood about 5'9" and his hair was only about 3 inches long. He pulled a slip of paper out of his pocket and read it’s contents, ‘Baal’s Bar-250 Miles southeast of Draemon’ . He looked to the sun and determined which way southeast was and began walking.

------It wasn’t long until he stepped out of the forest into a clearing where a large two story building stood. It’s face held four windows upstairs and five or so downstairs, including a staircase and double doors. He looked it over for a moment and he found a sign that read, ‘Baal’s Bar, rooms available.’ He nodded and spoke to himself, “This is the place.” He smirked and started up the steps, cautiously pushing open the doors past the small porch he stepped inside and looked around.
------The place was quite quaint, it had a bar with a kitchen door behind it, the wall behind the bar was covered with various liquids, to the right of the doors was a giant fireplace, almost large enough for a person to stand in, burning very brightly. In front of the fireplace were couches and a few seats. Between them and the bar were a few tables with chairs, good for breakfast, lunch or dinner. He stopped in the center of the room and looked around, the place was greatly empty.
------A sound of footsteps on the at staircase along the left wall caught his attention and he jerked his head in it’s direction. The wooden steps made the footsteps resound across the rest of the wooden building. While he watched the steps a young fair skinned girl came down them, her hair was long and black and she wore a blueish silver kimono. He turned his whole body towards her and she looked up at him.
She plastered a smile on her face and spoke. “Welcome, who might you be?”
Her young voice made Dan blush for reason’s he didn’t understand, “Daniel” He replied carefully.
“So what brings you here Mr. Daniel?” She asked, eyeing him the same as he was eyeing her, she noted the hilt behind his back and continued to walk towards him.
“I heard about this place and the name caught my interest.” He replied coolly.
“Oh?” She stepped up to him, about a foot away and a couple inches shorter, possibly 5'6". She circled around him, gripping her katana which she held under her kimono. “That’s very interesting.”
“I gue–“ His statement was halted by the sudden movement of the girl who had drawn her sword and was swinging it down at Dan. He dove forward in time, the blade almost grazing his back. He rolled and pushed himself up as her sword halted an inch above the ground, a few strands of her hair falling in front of her face.
------Dan gripped his sword as he stood, the blade now a full katana length. The girl laughed at him lightly.
“Good...” She said as she sheathed her sword and looked at him, brushing the hair out of her face. He continued to stand, expecting her to attack again. “...you look foolish, standing there with your sword drawn when I’ve already put mine away. Don’t worry, I’m not gonna attack you again.” She said, Dan eyed her up and down as he slowly began to put away his sword, which surprisingly fit into the five inch sheath. He watched a broach on her kimono as he did, it was beautiful.
“You want anything?” She asked him as she turned and made her way to the bar. He gave her a confused/perplexed look. “Something from the bar, not me.”
“Oh...water...I guess...” He replied and watched her go into the kitchen and return with a water bottle which she promptly threw at him. He caught it and opened it, drinking half of it immediately. “Why did you attack me?” He asked as he tightened the lid.
“Why? A normal lesser demon wouldn’t have been able to dodge that like you did.” She smiled and walked over to him with a glass of soda in her hands. “Name’s Athina by the way.”
Dan nodded, acknowledging her name. “So it was a test?”
“Yep, you passed it.” She said, smile never ceasing. “You planning on staying here or are you just visiting?”
“I guess I’ll stay here, although I can’t afford a room...” He sighed and sipped some more of his water.
“Well...I guess I can give you a room for working here, would you mind being a guard slash bouncer?” Athina asked, extending her hand.
“Alright, deal.” He took her hand and shook it.
“Good, now I must be going, I have to go take a shower upstairs.” She said, starting for the stairs.
“Wait, ‘thina...I have some questions.” He stopped her on the second step, she turned and looked at him.
“K, make it snappy.” She sighed.
“Where’s my room?” He asked number one.
“The second on the right, and the other?” She replied.
“How old are you?” He asked carefully.
“...heh...seventeen...you must be eighteen at least.” She answered, hopping up a step.
“Nineteen...” He said shyly, feeling bad about some of the thoughts he had about her.
“Well, see you later Mr. Daniel.” She giggle and hopped up the rest of the stairs, disappearing at the top. Dan turned and looked at the room.
“What to do now...”
