The time we have is so short. Sometimes it seems like an eternity has gone by, but it really hasn't. There is so much life crammed into so small a time span. Sure, 60, 70, or more years seems like a huge amount of time at our disposal, but that's where we're wrong; We are as fleeting and ephemeral as the morning dew, a vapor in the wind, here one moment and gone the next. The time we have is not ours, but is simply on loan to us. And yet we waste our time with things that are so insipid and won't mean a thing in the long run. It is our actions that determine who we are as they echo in eternity, it is our actions that speak loudest about us. When I stand before God and give an accounting of my life, I want to be able to say that I took the time He lent me and I put it to good use, so that He may say to me, 'Well done, good and faithful son.' What are we living for?
