Chapter 1-In The First World?






Would anyone ever come? We all sat in the cellar of the old orphanage and prayed that the evil ones (as my matrons called them) would pass and we would be safe. As I sat there, I listened to my matrons whispering to each other quietly.
They were talking quickly so I could only catch phrases of their speech. "Should we tell...", "No she isn't ready to be...", "But she's the...and we need her!" While I pondered these words I heard a loud bang and everything went black.

I woke up slowly, everything was blurry but I could tell that I was in the hospital. The doctors were speaking quickly and in French so that I only understood a few words,"...surgery...", "...be gone..." As I tried to understand these words and to whom they were meant inside my head my mind strayed to my past...


The furthest back I can remember was when I was just an infant. I was laying in a crib and a man and a woman were arguing about something but I didn't know what it was.

Later on into the night I was aroused by the warm touch of the woman. I suppose that the woman was my motherfor her face was covered by a black cloak, but I don't know who the man was since he left the house after the quarrel. She took me out of the house and into the forest. She walked on for what seemed like hours, then suddenly we came to a large clearing. She stood there for a moment observing the area as though looking for something. I suppose she found it because she began speaking in a tonge that I couldn't understand, I thought I felt a wavw of energy sweep through me and then the next second I saw 3 more cloaked figures emerge from the trees. They seemed to glide across the ground like air that had been dyed black. They all were silent until 1 of them spoke in the odd tongue. Then my mother put me into the speakers arms and let go of me. I dont know why she just left me like that, I never even got to see her face. But then I was corrected, she took off her hood, her long black hair fell around her pretty face. Her eyes werent mine though,they were violet and they were sad, mine are green and they always seem to be empty. Then she took from her neck a silver chain, this chain had a red stone as red as blood itself. She held it in her finger a sin like a symbolic way and then, it shone. It shone in a way that I cant explain in words. 5 figures(symbols I think) that were very ghostly-like glided from the stone to 5 different trees.The ghostly figures seemed to inflame and connect so that we were enclosed in a fiery ring.

Then the stone suddenly shone so bright that it was beyond blinding. We all were engulfed in a sea of red light, I couldn't see, hear, touch or smell. I couldn't breath, I was drowning, they were going to get me if it didn't stop. There was no point to life, I wanted to die, I was falling into a sea of hot red light and then, black.

The doctors came in, "Just relax and everything will be fine." "What will be fine?" I shouted,"Tell me whats going on!" "Just relax, it'll all be over soon." and then, I blacked out.
