☆ PERSONALITY 》
Narubia is an intelligent, perceptive, compassionate, and open minded young woman due to not only the education from her sister-in-law, but also from her life experiences. Although she can come across as quiet and demure upon first impressions, she is shown to be quite a vibrant young lady, often finding happiness in the simplicities of life considering it's what she's accustomed to. She is sincere, cordial, and helpful to those she meets, though she can be perceived as spirited most of the time due to her desire for independence and adventurous pursuits. Learning is her passion, which can lead her to questioning others in order to gain better knowledge and understanding of something.
Sometimes, she fears accusations of being rebellious, spoiled, and/or rude because of being a learned girl, not to mention speaking her mind could very well prevent her from making any friends in the land, or even being married. As such, Narubia tends to avoid speaking about her problems to others aside from her father, older half-brother, and sister-in-law; even then, her main place of solace and comfort seems to be her own imagination. As much as she tries to act more acceptable around others, she soon gives up due to feeling like she's losing a part of her identity in the process of assimilating to conformity. Even more, she falls victim to her insecurities, also believing that she might not be attractive enough to even be considered for marriage.
☆ HISTORY 》
Narubia is uncertain of the origins of her birth; though Zayn is very reluctant to speak on the matter, she's heard rumors of her biological father Fahd Jaber being involved in an adulterous relationship with merchant Zayn Suleiman's first wife Fatimah, and the two mysteriously dying of unknown circumstances once the illegitimate child was born. Considering no one- aside from possibly Zayn himself- knowing what really happened the night the two bodies were found, the deaths of Fahd and Fatimah were regarded as either punishment from Anu for defiling the sanctity of marriage, or simply the father gaining his just revenge for his wife wayward behavior. Regardless, she was reluctantly taken in by her deceased mother's widowed husband, giving her a place of inheritance alongside his firstborn son Harun despite the customs concerning "b*****d children". In time, she gained more siblings after Zayn's second marriage; however, Dunyazad died not long after giving birth to Rashad. As she grew older, she received nearly the same education as her brothers, thought her training in weaponry ranged from limited to near non-existent. Very often, she would sit alongside her brothers as they were told tales of legendary and mythical heroes, leading her to imagine herself within the stories and participating with said heroes.
As she grew older, Narubia received the traditional training necessary and proper for a girl of the desert lands- ettiquite, attire, household duties, and of course, her behavior in private and in public. In short, she was to be an example of the ideal woman. Being a child, she never questioned traditions and simply did as she was told, and any doubts were kept within her mind. During her period of early adolescence, her eldest brother Harun had reached the age of marriage. Not only did he claim his birthright, but it wasn't long before he obtained the hand of Mujahida, eldest twin daughter of one of Zayn's merchant allies. Once the young woman became an addition into the household, Narubia's life became less conservative. Although Mujahida attended the duties that were appropriate to women of the land, she was spirited and strong willed, and did not hesitate to add to her sister-in-law's education with the practice of archery. Of course, Narubia was not used to it, yet Mujahida's unwavering patience and instructions helped the girl become more confident that she could be capable of this, and the more they trained, the more proficient Narubia became. However, in contrast to the weapons training Narubia received, Mujahida's twin sister Munirah continued educating the girl in the traditional ways, though her emphasis on improving outward appearances to gain the attention from both men and women didn't help much due to Narubia's near-wiry frame.
A few months after Harun married Mujahida, Zayn moved the entire family to Adros in the hopes of becoming more successful. Though Zayn still aiming to keep the traditions alive in his household, Narubia was eventually given some slack... albeit gradually, and usually outside the home. With the prospect of marriage still open for the young woman, Zayn is searching for a suitable husband... but there's the possibility that due to Narubia being educated and wanting to be more than a housewife, it would be extremely difficult, especially since Jamal has reached the age of marriage, and cannot take a wife until Narubia is wed. In spite of this, the young woman is very reluctant about marriage, and is doing her best to avoid it for as long as possible through her shepherding and household duties, attempting to hide not only her insecurities about the whole matter, but also the fact that she fears being treated less like an individual. Though she still dreams of adventure and action, she knows that the closest she will get to it is fending off anyone who would dare to steal her father's sheep.
