OMG Chie Shinohara is back at it !!! whee and as a big fan of hers I couldn't be more excited about it! After the master piece that was "Anatolia Story aka Sora wa Akai Kawa no Hotori" emotion_bigheart which was released 2005, made and became a HUGE hit! and one of the most amazing mangas I have ever read (and I read alot of s**t! sweatdrop ).
She has now started another manga with a similar feel too it called 'Drops of Dreams, The Golden Birdcage aka Yume no Shizuku, Ougon no Torikago'. She has of course worked on other mangas over the years but as a fan I must say that in the Historical/Romance/Drama genre is where her strength lies.
I can't help but have high expectations for this new manga because of it's predecessor (Anatolia Story) and I can only hope my expectations are not dashed emotion_0A0 , but I'm not too worried because of Chie Shinohara expertise with this genre emotion_kirakira (and so far only 3 chapters have been translated). I think she'll rock it and look forward too the rest of this series. emotion_yatta

Beginning of 16th century – Alexandra was captured by slave traders from Ukraine during one of their many raids. When the traders arrived in Greece to sell the female slaves, a young handsome man named Mateus bought her and promised to give her true freedom. He hired countless teachers, scholars, and palace ladies to train her into the most perfect woman of her time. Mateus’s kindness has caused Alexandra to deeply fall in love with him, and she secretly wishes to be his concubine. But cruel fate! Mateus has already promised her to his best friend… Suleiman the Great, Emperor of the Ottoman Empire!
