Anyway, on my way to school I saw many womans who had them on their jackets,they were all pretty colored, and than I saw a man who had a black peace of material on his jacket. I don't know if it's the same in other cultures, but here that means someone you knew died, and you wear those things to show your respect for them after he/she died.
