I have no understanding why
Demon eyes dwell only here
Life turns to death with a blade
Silence to her voice is made
A curse with no words
A voice lost with no sound
All that's left is blood on the ground
Spared for nothing
They stood together
As she stayed quiet for years to come
Trauma peaks its head out from the past
Nothing good will come to last
Day after day
In silence she stayed
Day and night
She watched as he played
Music she can see
But cannot hear
A reminder at every turn
Brings back that fear
Words on paper
His voice is not heard
That's how they stayed together
Caught up in the melody
She goes unnoticed
He cannot hear her calling to him
The smell of pain caught his attention
But too late was he to see her pain
Silence again
He grieves for nothing
Only a ghost stood before him
It is her, but not her
That's what he sees
Going on in grievance without knowing
She's not gone...just hurt
Now, she's what she longed to be
And yet, he still can't see
A voice, a smile, laughter in her eyes
Yet, he sits and watches
He still cries
Unaware that she is there
The scars of the past he bares
So he decides to play on for her sake
His grievance he puts behind him as she wakes
They say goodbye for nothing
It doesn't have to end
Together they no longer stay
After she wakes
A new beginning for them both
She can speak
She can be outgoing
He can play
He can wonder freely
They go their separate ways
With the memories of the past broken
Life on the outside begins
But I'll never know why
Why they went on unknowing
They were the ones that survived
Together today
Gone tomorrow
They travel down the road separately
Leaving behind their sorrow
I wrote this poem based on the movie Soundtrack. My friend's mother showed me a song on Youtube called Synchronicity. It came from that movie. The star is a Japanese musician/actor named Sugizo. When I heard the song, it blew me away completely. So I searched for the movie and found it on Youtube. It took me awhile to realize that the two existed in different dimensions. That's why they didn't see eachother. His sister had two different sides to her. One that died, The other the outgoing type that hated her life. But I can't simply just change the poem. I'll just keep it as it is.
