1. Fire and Ice

It is aesthetically pleasing at first glance, but on examination, it is little more than a compound of obvious EIs, assembled with the most rudimentary level of inspiration. The ice hair is counterproductive to the symmetry of the theme: where the bottom is ice heavy and tapered up, the top is fire heavy and tapers down - the hair is thus interrupting the taper of the ice element, and intruding upon the fire section. The bra looks very silly. As far as creativity goes, its flame is dull, its puddle is shallow. Its aesthetic merit is lost to the façade of it requiring skill to execute.
Verdict: 4/10.

2. Waiting

On a purely aesthetic and emotional level, I enjoy this. The coat interacts well with your simulation of wind. The hair is a pleasant shade and texture, which fits the atmosphere. The message is sincere. However, on a functional/skill level, this is avatar is very average. The skin tone awkwardly melts into the color of the jacket as if a convoluted extension of the collar. The shoes rob from the atmosphere of the avatar, feeling very silly. Formal shoes, in a shade matching or slightly darker than the coat, would have been a much better choice.
Verdict: 6/10.

3. Black White

This avatar exhibits the most basic functions of matching, yet still falls short of precision. An emphasis should have been placed on either a: equal parts gray and white (hair), or b: emphasis on gray with white accents (coat). Instead, emphasis dances back and forth from section to section, from hair, to coat, to jeans (white w/ black accents), arriving us very bluntly at the shoes. The avatar, further, has an awkward silhouette. The coarse, straight leg of the pants, and blunk, oxford blockiness of the shoes do not complement the flowing aspect of the hair and coat. The demonic MCs are unappealing and unnecessary. The colored eyes do not achieve the element of captivation they were intending, they are simply a distraction.
Verdict: 2/10.

4. Faceless Monster

The atmospheric elements piece together very awkwardly on close examination. The billow of the pixie does not “consume†the lower region but seems to layer over one wing and under the other, as if but a sheet of paper. Padmavati’s mist very obviously layers above the pixie, as well; they do not intermingle. Too many objects are acting as light sources. The bottom of the avatar feels barren, with no mist or prism effects.
The avatar itself has some merit, with a striking form and ominous attitude, although the headfins are slightly awkward and the hair seems too humane. However, whatever merit the body itself exhibits is saturated in the dust bowl.
Verdict: 6/10.

5. Electric Crimson

The background is extraordinarily counterproductive. The minute details of the body itself are camouflaged against the piano. The lack of solid ground is disconcerting. The background layering is blasé and overdone. The microphone is the only beneficial elements, and it is technically in the foreground anyway. The outfit itself is not groundbreaking, but it does deserve merit for its excellent character. The facial details are pleasant and captivating. The headband layers surprisingly well with the hair, for a unique effect. I would have personally preferred less pronounced stockings, as they are far too energetic to fit the overall character.
Verdict: 3/10, without background: 6/10.

6. Space Pirate

The pectoral region, arms, and mask function together in a very pleasing manner and are accented nicely be the dainty feet and ribbon/anklet layering. The quality of the leg reason is anyone’s guess, as it melts into the ananta-shesha. The only portion which jumps out is the nightmare wound, which is distracting. The avatar suggests a very pleasant silhouette, all of which is swallowed up and forgotten. The kicker is, without the ananta-shesha, nothing about this would scream space pirate.
Verdict: 5/10, without background: 7/10.

7. Demon Scroll Akumaru
This avatar makes poop look good.

8. Maurice, Melee Weapon Wielder

A very rudimentary character. The primary matching elements are unimpressive. The rusted red is all accomplished through multiple infernal spirits. Hand/feet wraps with talsi’s hair, at this point, is expectable and uninteresting. The loincloth is off shade and looks ridiculous with a modern, black belt. The gold edges of the infernal spirit go unmatched. The blacks are forced and seem to exist solely to match his weapon arsenal.
Certain aspects of the tattoos are interesting, specifically the black soleil tattoo over the brown tribal to create a multi-colored stomach tattoo – but beyond this, they just create clutter.
Verdict: 3/10.

9. Bird Girl

The methods used to distribute black are counterproductive to your overall aesthetic. Shedding the headwings and all black accessories below the neckline would have been in your best interest. The soap bar seems slightly silly. You would also been better off using beige of your hair and brass colors at the feet. Using boots and the like would offer a greater "fullness" to the avatar. The coarse color of the socks with the bright color of the sandals makes for an awkward mixture, which does not complement the sardonic atmosphere of the rest of the avatar. The chosen color scheme is suitably intriguing, but the lengths taken to force certain aspects to match have undone the overall aesthetic.
Verdict: 5/10.

10. Pantsed Cassanova

I lolled, but that’s about it. As far as aesthetic appeal goes, it relies fully on the background to accomplish anything. As far as the emotional appeal goes, the angelic style. Facial detailing is near limitless with all the eyes, smiles, and make-up we are given. We should be moving beyond the memetic faces when creating character appeal.
Verdict: 3/10.
