As you may (or may not) know, I'm engaged to be married to fellow Gaian, Zweihander87. Today, we decided to go bike riding.
Zwei thought it'd be a great idea to go down this big a** hill.
I went first, and I saw him zoom past me.
Then I saw him come dangerously close to a parked red truck.
Then, I saw him smash headlong into the tail-end of said red truck, go ragdoll, and fall out of sight.
I screamed, somehow managed to get over there and he was by then standing by the truck wheezing.
I had seen him hit the truck's tailgate at about the n****e-line, his neck snapped forward, his bike slammed into the back end, and his feet went up over his head almost.

Naturally, I was freaked right the ******** out.
We went inside the family that owned the truck's house and they were very nice. The lady gave him a washcloth, I gave him a pain killer/horse pill ifyanowutimeen, checked him over for any serious injuries, he passed a verbal mental check, and the little girl wanted us to stay and watch fireworks with her.
Sweet people . . .
The injury list, for poor lil' Zwei?
1 dislocated knee cap
3-5 scrapes, bumps, and bruises on his arms, left shin, and right wrist.
and 3-4 aching ribs.
He has to walk with a cane to avoid too noticable a limp and the front wheel of his bike? Bent beyond all recognition.
Worst first day of July ever.
