Your empty Eyes
So I was browsing Deviantart recently and seeing all of the Twilight flamers and thinking how stupid. Me thinks thee doth protest too much. I mean everyone hates things, but these people are so opposed it is ridiculous. I saw this stamp about how Twilight was a bad example of feminism. Which is a strong argument for flamers; I would like to address this. What most flamers don't realise is that first off, most readers don't particularly like Bella or what she does and I've never heard someone say that they want to be like Bella. Second off, when reading Twilight most people aren't looking for good examples of feminism. They are just reading a well written story if you disagree with that statement to you I say, if it wasn't well written, why have millions of people, young and old, men and women, read it and kept buying them? People who read Twilight and obsesses over it are mostly fangirling about Edward. Why do you think they like him so much? Flamers, please tell me this. I know why I liked him so much, he was a gentleman rare in our culture of wannabe gangsters. He was conflicted and confused, he admitted to not having a clue what he was doing. My friends and I always called him hot, but I think this was directed more toward his nature than anything, he was a fictional character, how could he be hot? I have a friend who is opposed to reading Twilight, she isn't a flamer, but she dislikes the story because the vampires sparkle. She said real vampire don't sparkle. I guess I agree with this, but since vampire aren't real...who said they had to be night walkers and coffin sleepers and lurkers of your nightmares? Why couldn't they be brooding and conflicted and sparkly?
