“Rise and shine, Cyrus!” he heard Chris shout from the hallway.
“For the love of—!” Cyrus looked around, his room still dark, ”hey what time is it?”
His door opened and Chris poked his head in, “It’s about six in the morning.”
“SIX IN THE MORNING!? Why you wake me up so early?” he shouted, man was he mad, what was his brother up to?
“It’s your first day at the Academy,” Chris started to walk towards him, “and in the future I expect you to use a nicer tone.” he said smiling, that’s Chris always smiling.
“Whatever idiot!” he really didn’t feeling like putting up with Chris today, and on top of that the Academy. His parents really couldn’t wait to ship him off to some military school. Man he was mad, he tried to take a swing at Chris.
Suddenly he felt his strength failing, “of course always cheating,” he looked up to see his brother glowing slightly, “just because you know magic doesn’t mean you can use it on everyone!”
Chris smiled, always smiling! ”Now, now little brother, chill out.” Cyrus froze, no literally he froze, the room suddenly started to grow really cold. “New spell?” he asked trying to keep cool, Chris just smiled.
“Of course, well not really, new to you anyway. Now get ready, I don’t have the whole day to babysit you.” he said walking towards the door.
Cyrus frowned ”Great, the mighty Chris wins again, I wish I knew some spells.”
“Someday Cy, now get ready.” that surprised him, had he spoken outloud?
“Whatever,” he said, “I’ll get you someday.”
“Doubt it.” Chris said before closing the door.
He got out of bed and put on some clothing, nothing special its not like he was going to a bawl.
“At least,” he thought, “I’ll learn some magic at the ‘Academy.’“
He went by the kitchen but seeing no one he grabbed an apple and headed for the door.
Once he step outside the cool morning air hit him conjuring up the memory of Chris’ spell.
“Yeah,” he smiled, “at least I’ll learn some spells.”
