The Records of Lady Díanë
The scribe's account of the life of Lady Díanë
Mark the Scribe
Good day to you all!

My name is Mark. I have recently been hired as a scribe by Lady Díanë. She wishes for me to write down the accounts of her life in these scrolls.
I will be doing so somewhat regularly from now on. That is all for now.

May your sword stay sharp!
Mark the Scribe

Greetings to Mark the Scribe, from Gerun the Guard! You may be wondering why a man named Gerun whom you have never met is now speaking to you. The answer is quite simple really: My Lady Lúthien, wished to write a letter to you, the scribe of her beloved sister. However, My Lady Lúthien was told by a certain Madam Agatha that it is improper for a letter to pass directly from the writer to the intended recipient. My Lady Lúthien asked if perhaps, in that case, she ought to hire a legion of heralds and have them line up from her house to Lady Díanë's, and simply pass the letter hand-to-hand all the way here. Apparently, the good Madam Agatha thought that a bit superfluous, so My Lady Lúthien settled for asking me to deliver this letter, as she has not a herald in her employment. Luckily, Madam Agatha did not hear that Lady Lúthien was writing a letter to "servant", or she may have thrown a fit the likes of which have not been seen since a certain unfriendly German man with poor taste in mustache styles. In any case, the point is, I, Gerun the Guard, am here to give you, Mark the Scribe, a letter from my mistress, Lady Lúthien. Now, if you will excuse me, I am off home to inquire of My Lady whether I might be granted another position in her house so that my name and title are not an annoying alliteration.

Aiya, to Mark the Scribe, of the House of Lady Díanë, from Lady Lúthien! This is just a short note to greet you. Which I have now done. I hope my sister is feeding you well, and I advise you to wear as much flame-proof clothing as you possibly can while around her or the dragons. Especially her. But don't tell her I said that. May the sunshine be warm on your back, and the grass soft beneath your feet!
    ~Lady Lúthien

To Mark, scribe of Lady Díanë. Greetings from Lady Arriana.

Forgive my forthrightness, Mark the scribe, but Lady Luthien has placed you in a great deal of danger. You need fear nothing from your own lady or any other, but rather from the afore mentioned Madam Agatha. Keep very close the secret that Lady Luthien wrote directly to you as you will be the unfortunate subject or witness to a severe scolding from Madam Agatha, who is my guardian. I'm sure you will have no need to worry, but if you ever come in contact with Madam Agatha keep to all right forms of conduct and do not act or appear familiar with any of your 'betters'. I give this warning in friendship that much trouble may be averted.

Nai Anar caluva tielyanna! (may the sun shine upon your path)
    Lady Arriana
