The Palace of Krolm was always empty at times like this. Time when the stars lit the daytime sky. Not even the servants in gold and cream livery were around. Everyone associated this phenomenon of stars to Majira's return to the palace. Though it wasn't. It happened because the world was rather oblong and sometimes stars passed close enough to the earth to be seen even in the bright sunlight. Majira knew that. She knew when it would happen so she came back around that time because the commoners would lose faith in her if the Star of the Day didn't make stars come out during the day.
"This is harder than it looks." Rogan mumbled, "How do you keep your balance." he tried to imitate Majira's glide.
"Women glide." Majira said calmly, "Just walk the way you would in your normal form. It's just an illusion anyways."
Rogan gave her a dark look and continued to attempt a walk on two legs. Majira stopped at her rooms. She generally liked the dark so her rooms were underground with no windows. She shifted both of their forms back again and opened her wardrobe.
"You disguised us so you could change your clothes?" Rogan asked skeptically. His snout rested on one of Majira's large pillows.
Majira tossed a blanket on top of him, "Of course I did. I didn't want someone to notice me once we go outside."
"So you wasted Majick to disguise us while walking in an empty palace," Rogan rumbled in a flat, contradictory voice, "so that we can walk in our own forms out of the palace."
"Spies." Majira said coolly, "There are always spies. Anyways, they think I'm in red. But I'm going to change into something else. Grab a cloak, and we'll make you look like a dog."
Rogan's ears went flat in irritation, "I hate dogs."
"I know you do." Majira continued, examining a dark blue silk with silver embroidery. She decided that it would have to do and changed into it. She took off all of her jewelry except for a few silver bangles on one ankle and slipped on a pair of silken slippers under good walking shoes. She drew out large fur-lined cloak and pulled the hood up to hide her face
