The winter moon's light beat down on the snow covered ground. She walked up the pathway, leaving her footprints following close by. The wind blew her hazelnut hair behind her. She shivered. Her barefeet hit the cold wooden floorboards on the porch.
"Hello?" She reached for the doorknob, but noticed the door was unlatched. Her cold, red fingertips pushed the door open.
"Is anyone th..." She broke off in mid-sentence.
"It's time to go, Stephanie. It's your fault, you have to pay." He was standing there, pointing the gun at her.
"I'm sorry...I have to..." He pulled the trigger. She felt the blood coming from her chest.
"I didn't..." Her voice faded into the night. She fell to the ground, holding her wound. The blood was sticky on her fingertips. Her body was shaking all over. Going into shock, she heard the light footsteps hurring towards her.
"Steph, come on Steph, wake up. It's ok, I'm here." Morgan held Stephanie in her arms.
"You're burning up. Let me go run a cold bath for you."
Stephanie sat there shivering.
It was a dream? It felt so real...
