I was sixteen when I met my first boyfriend
It was short, it was sweet, and I loved him so

I have a melody for this song...
and... I like it... XD
It could be a country song... I'm sure there are more girls out there than just myself who can relate to being in relationships that just didn't work, and then finding a person they thought they'd like to be with but not having the courage to say it, so when that person sets you up with someone else... XD
It's about being able to have no regrets when it comes to ending a relationship on a good note when it's starting to get bad, but having regrets when it comes to 'the one that got away.' XD
I actually rather like the melody I have in my head... I need to figure out the chords. I know that it shares chords with La Bamba and with another song, but I'll have to figure out the little trill on my own.
The song has a weird melody in that it's very much a connected singing job until you get to certain lines-then it gets a little stilted. XD
