David Cook says he's dating an "American Idol" alum.

The newly crowned "Idol" winner said Tuesday on "Live With Regis and Kelly" that he recently had a dinner date with former "Idol" contestant Kimberly Caldwell.

Cook, 25, said he met Caldwell through the show. When asked if he had a good time, Cook replied: "I did. We'll probably hang out again. So we'll see."

Caldwell, 26, appeared on the second season of the top-rated Fox singing competition.

Cook, from Blue Springs, Mo., defeated 17-year-old David Archuleta last week in a landslide victory. The rocker became the heartthrob of the seventh season around the time he restyled his hair and displayed more confidence onstage.

k so im on Gaia at 7:00am at least 2 hrs b4 skool starts, my lil sis (beautifulariesgurl) said to me "Today guys will be hitting on you for weird reason, which i find utterly histarical." I rolled my eyes and said "Weirdo, and get out of my room!". i got up frm the computer chair, ate my food and went to skool. incase u dont know im in the 11th grade which means im in high skool. its gym class and a guy in my class,Romar, looks to me and said "Lookin' good". I really was puzzled so i said "Ok..." Romar winked and walked away. One hour later its Biology time. Joshua, whos in my bio class, says "Hey there sweety". I stare blankly to him and say "Hey.." At the end of the day i finally realized why all those guys were "coming on" to me. It was bcuz i was best friends with the hottest girl in the whole 11th grade. i got home and said to my sister "You're a freak". "Was it cuz of those guys staring at you?" "Ya" i replied. She stuck her tongue out at me. "And it's not cuz u being friends with Emily, its cuz of the PSP and iPhone you have" said my sister. I fell back and said "Oh man"
