Is Britney Spears planning a comeback?

That might be the case as the embattled pop star has apparently returned to the recording studio with producers J.R. Rotem and Sean Garrett, People.com reported.


"She's like a master at what she does, Rotem told People. "She's a lot more experienced than most people. She just has the 'it' factor that not every artist has. So it's always nice to work with her."

Rotem wouldn't disclose specifics about what Spears is working on, but a family source told People that she's has began work on a follow-up to Blackout, the album she released last October.

"Britney is in the experimental stages of a new album," a source told People. "She's trying to find the sound and direction she wants to go in, but nothing is set in stone just yet. She has been playing the piano a lot and just singing. She says she misses 'just singing.'"

Spears recently returned from a vacation in Costa Rica and has been trying to keep a lower profile of late.
