It took the driver of the car involved in a low-speed accident with Britney Spears on Saturday night less than 24 hours to go public with his post-crash pain.

In a tête-à-tête with TMZ.com, the unnamed 21-year-old guy, whose Nissan was rear-ended by Brit's white Mercedes on a Los Angeles freeway in stop-and-go traffic, reveals he awoke with an aching back and was contemplating seeing a chiropractor for an adjustment.

The driver, who cops to checking out Brit before the collision, alleges he saw her touching up her makeup.

He says he didn't figure out until after their cars made contact that it was the still-under-supervision tabloid topper behind the wheel, and concedes he doesn't know whether she was still applying face paint at the time of the fender bender (also unclear: whether he was paying full attention to the road as he apparently ogled Spears in his rearview).

And while Brit's bodyguard offered a mea culpa for the mishap, which didn't cause any damage or result in any tickets, she did not, maintains the driver.

Spears, who was reportedly given a sobriety test, continued with her plans for the evening, which involved meeting her mom Lynne for dinner (her bodyguard took over driving duties).

"She was in a great mood, talking and laughing a lot!" a fellow diner tells Us. "She was very passive. You could tell that her mom really had control over the situation."

Photo agency JFX believes the chin strip-festooned shutterbug was "attacked and stabbed" Saturday night, receiving a gash on his arm, cuts on his face and a black eye.

He's said to be doing "OK" after having his purported wounds treated.

Days earlier, paparazzi captured Ghalib walking arm-in-arm with Kathy Griffin as they shopped in Beverly Hills, with the randomness and the lameness of the pairing leading many to speculate that it was a stunt for the paparazzi prank show "Pop Fiction."
