The blaze of colorful skirts could hypnotize anyone, and here i was dancing with the numbers of girls of my village. I was in black the part of the play thats most hated because your suppose to be the only color left out compared to the vibrant ones everyone else wore, but i didnt care. The part i played was that of death's messanger, as i twisted and twirled i saw many eyes locked on the stage as the other girls backed into the shadows.
"I am, death's messanger, and i bring you news..." before i could finish my line a rock flew threw the air and hit me above the eye.
"YOUR A WITCH!" shouted a boy from the crowd.
I held my head as i glared at the boy in the crowd, slowly i walked forward the people spreading like the red sea for me. I grabbed the boy by his collar and yanked him to the stage where i glared deeply into his eyes. " AS I SAID BEFORE!" i snarled at him. The boys eyes where wide in fear as i finished my lines and stormed off stage to change into my normal clothes letting someone else be death's messanger for the play.
"HEY!! Udari!!" shouted a guy as i stormed up the walk way back toward the school where i stayed.
"what?" i asked softly as he slowly to a skid to speak to me.
"You where really great..." he said but i blew him off and stormed up the walk way back to the school. The schools ground keeper saw me and smiled softly as i walked over to watch him tend to the old oak tree. He was silent and i respected that allowing my anger at being hit by a rock slowly go from a boil to a simmer till it was gone. I looked up and noted the stars where out each winking in their own way.
"Udari, my girl why are you not at the play?" asked the old man.
"I got hit by a rock...so i left." i replied softly as he checked out the cut from the rock.
"Tsk, tsk." He mummbled running a finger over the cut letting it vanish. I had grown acustom to the old man's oddities at healing, and knowledge and on request of him i told no one.
"Run on up to bed now child, you'll have a lot of 'splaining to do to the people of the play in the morning." he gently roughed my short red hair before sending me on my way with a treat.
As i walked up the stairs and threw the halls that led to my room in the guys dormitory i noted how silent and errie it was with out the normal ruckus of the guys. Due to fights with the girls my room had been changed to the guys dormitory but i didn't care seeing as how i got along with guys better then the snooty girls here who worried about the latest fashions and their hair.
Eventualy the rest of the school came home later that night, i heard the annoying croon of the matron mothers who chased the students into their rooms. Eventualy one of my friends opened my door to see me sitting on my bed in the dark staring at him. A nervous grin escaped his face before i grinned back. "Are you ok?" he asked softly and i nodded my head. My friends name was Dante, he tended to be a bit on the morbid side when it came to humor but he was like a brother to me. After a few moments of trading banter and witty comebacks Dante left when the matron mother of the hall yanked him out of my room. The old woman gave me a dark glare seeing that i had done nothing i could get in trouble for before shutting the door with a loud bang. "Old bat.." I hissed as i locked my door before going to bed.
